I grew up in Mildura and have always taken a keen interest in the history of the city and its founding fathers, the Chaffey Brothers. So why it's taken me all this time to visit Chateau Mildura I have no idea!! I live interstate now so I love discovering new gems in my hometown and this wonderful old winery counts among them. The place could use some love but the old wine house remains intact, there are some interesting displays that describe the history of the company, which ended up becoming the famous Mildara brand. The winery has been back in family ownership since 2000 and our hostess was warm and helpful as she ran us through our tasting. We were pleasantly surprised at the quality of the wines, which are so reasonably priced we bought three cases to take home to our cellar. Will be back.

Joan was lovely, and a huge help in talking us wine newbies through the different wines. She answered any question we threw at her and definitely knew her stuff. We loved seeing the old wine cellar, the tour is definitely worth it for $5.It was very interesting reading the facts around the history of wine making in Mildura.

Said open at 10 but no sign of a sole. Bit like a dump site. Such a pity as so much potential

Chateau Mildura is one of the first places we visit on our regular trips to Mildura. This winery has a fascinating history and the rustic charm of the buildings, the wine equipment, the advertising and the display cabinets are an added bonus. The winery was established in 1888 and is part of the Chaffey Trail.Marina is an absolutely fantastic host! Tasting the wines and learning more about their origins is such a pleasure. The wines are very reasonably priced and are of great quality. A very good place to buy quite a few bottles and re-stock the wine rack or cellar :-)If you haven't been to this terrific winery, put it on your list. I promise you won't be disappointed!

We had such a nice wine tasting there. The wine was beautiful...nth beat a good barrel age wine. We were offered a bargain if we buy more than 12.

Marina is the best host in the area. Always full of great information about their wine, wine of the region and grape growing. Wines are well priced and are of great quality.
