We were recommended JDL by our draftsman who had worked with them previously. We also sourced two other quotes form other recommendations. From the first meeting it was clear JDL had our family and a quality project outcome at the centre of their thinking. The quote came back at the promised time and was very comprehensive. We made a few changes to our plans and JDL were very happy to amend their quote accordingly. JDL were chosen based on both their quote, their willingness to engage with us, their openness and their communication style. They made us feel comfortable and we knew we could work with them. Building started when they said it would and every step of the way was communicated to us weekly and as we had questions. We were living in the house during the additions and all the JDL team were respectful of our home, our kids and the pets. The work site was kept safe and cleaned regularly or at the end of the day if their work encroached on our living spaces. Now that the work is complete, the attention to detail is clear to see and the quality of the craftsmanship is evident in all areas of the job. You regularly hear bad 'Reno stories', but ours was a dream. There was never a moment we questioned our choice. We'd highly recommend JDL to anyone who requires building works done.

Kieran from JDL constructions is an excellent communicator and gives excellent relevant ideas and advice without taking over from what the client wants. He willingly gave his time and attended meetings even without a signed contract. He and his brother Michael are genuine and easy to get on with, while still being very professional. JDL were exceptional with the delivery of our recent home renovation. We faced a number of challenges due to the 2022 floods (mostly external to our build) with which Kieran and the team went above and beyond to help with. I am so happy we have choose JDL to be our builder for house renovation! They are professional, friendly(and kids friendly) easygoing and price wise! We love all the builders they have! If I need to do another renovation they will be my only choice!

My wife and I selected JDL construction to complete a large extensions and renovation of our house in Brisbane in 2022.Overall we were extremely impressed with JDL and very happy with our beautiful house. We had no experience renovating before and the JDL team did a fantastic job in helping us through the process from start to finish. JDL worked with us the housing designer up front to finalise the design and more detailed aspects before completion of the construction and fitout and were able to work with us along the way to rectify issues that had not been identified during the design process (due to the nature of an old Queenslander style cottage). Our house is now a perfect blend of new and modern living and kitchen area blending in with the character of the original part of the house.JDL did a excellent job of managing schedule and budget (totally transparently) through one of the most difficulty years for the building in recent times with significant rains and flooding early in the year and materials and labor shortages due to COVID.We don't have any plans to renovate again soon and will happy for a long time in our new house but if we did we would most certainly use JDL again.Kieran

The team at JDL Constructions did an amazing job on the renovation of our 98 year old Queenslander. From architect drawings to the completed job the professionalism, attention to the smallest detail and commitment to quality to bring our ideas into a beautiful new living space was exceptional. We were suitably impressed with Kieran and John from our first meeting with them. Not only were they able to convey a wealth of experience that only a truly seasoned builder could, they also had an innovative and progressive approach to their documentation and administration. Quotes and proposals were very clearly laid out and itemised, which gave us a good understanding as well as a basis for comparison with other builders we were reviewing. This transparency, along with their obvious understanding of our vision and budgetary constraints were the primary reasons we elected to use JDL Constructions for our renovation.During the build, in fact right from the start, they demonstrated that innovation through problem solving of some complex initial challenges and constant high level communication. This build was a very personal project for us, one we were very much invested in both financially and emotionally, and at times we must have been challenging clients (sorry guys!). However John and Kieran always had time for us, and were very accommodating with our crazy last minute design changes wherever possible. When we did have minor misunderstandings (as I’m sure there are on all projects) they were always handled professionally and fairly – in fact sometimes more than fairly, by the JDL team.The end result is that we were delivered a beautiful home which shows as much care and thoughtfulness in the build, as we put into the design. We have had a number of post-build follow up appointments with JDL, and their willingness to address minor matters that have cropped up as the house settles has given us great reassurance and proven that our trust in them was well founded.We are already dreaming up our next big building project, and wouldn’t hesitate to use JDL again in the future – in fact I’m sure that we will!

Right from the start JDL were professional, friendly and accommodating - John, Kieran and their team were a pleasure to work with. They successfully dealt with all the challenges a post-war bungalow major renovation and a top floor addition could offer and delivered us a magnificent, contemporary, high quality built home to live in. Both Kieran and Ray are fantastic to deal with - highly professional and trustworthy. We were looking to do a major renovation but through the process they helped us decide that a rebuild would be a better way for us to achieve what we wanted. Unfortunately, at this stage, JDL are specialising in renovations and so we weren't able to work with them. However we will definitely look to work with them on future projects.

My wife and I engaged JDL to build an extra bedroom & bathroom on the back of our house. The extension was custom-built offsite by Bretts Hardware and craned into place connecting to our existing deck. The whole experience was streamlined and cost-effective. We're also really happy that the modular blends in well with our character home. JDL are a family run business, great communicators and a pleasure to deal with.
