Take the amazing tour through the working Tully Sugar mill! Learned so much about the sugar making process and you get to go right up to all the machinery at work. Thanks to Judy for a wonderful tour. You’ll need to book your tour through the Tully visitor center. Once in a lifetime experience at the only remaining sugar mill in Australia to still offer public tours.

A tour of the Sugar Mill is highly recommended. We walked through the mill, from the trains arriving with the cane right through to the final product being despatched. In this risk-averse world, we were able to experience the process up close! The fact that the Sugar Mill is entirely self-sufficient for power (generating its own) is remarkable. All waste from the cane is recycled into molasses, bagasse and even 'wet' waste is returned to the farms. A good news story and well worth a visit.

What a great tour conducted by Carmel. Plenty of detailed information as you are guided around. Learning the process from farm to raw sugar. The use and recycling of water is eco friendly as well as using cane biproduct as fuel to heat he water. A worthy tour and very informative.

Great Tour, Sara our tour guide was excellent, we learnt a lot, she was very informative and also had a good sense of humour. We highly recommend going on the tour and asking for Sara's Tour. There is a smell from the sugar, but all round the town it smells of the sugar. But please note, you have to book and pay for the tour through the Tully Information Centre in Tully and then you go to the Tully Sugar Mill from there. The Information Centre ladies don't tell you enough, the map is not quite right that you have to follow. They don't tell you where to park your car - so turn into the Mill drive way and go straight ahead till you see the Tour Mill Hut and turn in front of that and find a park behind it somewhere. Also the ladies didn't tell us that you can't take hats, sunglasses, bags or backpacks on the tour, so leave them locked in your car. You can take cameras and you must have covered in shoes. We went back to the information centre after the tour and told them about the map and the lack of information and the very lady that sold me my ticket said she always tells people all of that

All Mill Tours are suspended for 2020/21 due to COVID-19 restrictions. Tully Sugar looks forward to welcoming visitors hopefully again from 2022.

Did the sugar mill tour after booking through the Tully Information Centre. It was a peek into the reality of sugar production and as a local that watches the cane being grown and harvested every year it was pretty cool seeing how the process goes right up to the teaspoon of sugar you put in your coffee. I'm not sure how long tours of this sort will continue as WHS is forever shutting interesting stuff down. So even if you're only slightly curious you should go. We were all issued with high Vis vests, helmets and ear pieces so we could hear our guide. She gave a thorough safety briefing prior to the tour and set a relaxed pace allowing everyone the opportunity to get a good look and take photos. This tour is good value for money and provides a unique insight you won't find anywhere else. Bookings are essential, take time to call ahead by about a week to avoid disappointment.

Just had a fantastic twilight tour with Judy. Thank you so much Tully Sugar for allowing us to come through and learn all about the process of the sugar cane. Even had a take home info sheet.
