This nursing home is one of the best in the area. Hundreds of reasons to prove that. Nursing care is excellent. Nurses here are very knowledgeable and attentive to all the minor details of residents’ physical, psychological and spiritual needs. Their communication and handover methods are highly effective. Regular visiting doctors are very experienced and intelligent. The care staff is well-trained in attending to all the routine care of the residents. On-site physiotherapist makes sure that elderly people remain independent as much as they can. Lifestyle and activity assistants are proactive and keep residents active and engage to help maintain their psychological and emotional wellness. They have plenty of daily activities (with activity assistants) including card games, art and craft sessions, movies and music sessions, external music and art performances, bowling, snooker and other games, etc.The infrastructure is also fabulous. This home accommodates 123 residents including 6 rooms allowing 3 couples and 16 special rooms in the dementia support unit (Hollywood). Each room has an en suite bathroom and toilet. 2 large and 2 small dining rooms. 1 small and 4 big internal courtyard areas with beautiful gardens accessible from more than half of the rooms. A vast collection of books is in the library. The hairdressing salon is located in the west part of the building. Cafeteria for any relaxing light snacks, meals and well-prepared coffee serving families, friends, staff and residents. The secure building with external locked doors. On-site car park for 45 vehicles including disabled car parking. Overall, this place is the best choice for elderly residents. They do have a long waiting list when it comes to getting admission here.

I’m doing some website work for Abbey Gardens. I visit a lot of age care facilities and the staff here are just lovely people. The atmosphere is very warm and welcoming.

Excellent care provided to mum, especially during this pandemic crisis. Feel very confident she is receiving best possible care and is safe. Even a local florist has said its the best aged care facility they deliver to.

Attended to a meeting about changes to what was your medical power of attorney. After the meeting we were shown around and questions answered. We have a friend living in Abbey Gardens Aged Care facility and she is happy and pleased with her new home after her husband died some time ago.

It’s great for the residents but a horror story if you’re a disabled visitor hoping for a parking space. There are only two spaces available. At the time of writing, all non-residential spaces were full & both disabled bays were in use. An absolute disgrace in this regard.

Disgraceful place! Do not put your loved ones in here!!! Don’t get me wrong, the nursing staff are lovely and do their best but this place is just in it for the money with no regard for human life!My mum got unwell during covid, she was banished to her room just in case she had covid, despite numerous negative PCR tests! Due to alzheimers my mum found this stressful and isolating and couldn’t understand why she was locked in!My mum kept getting sicker but no doctor was available to check her for days, she was on antibiotics for a chest infection but because of her mental state and not understanding what was wrong the nurses struggled to administer the meds. This went on for two weeks as my mum got sicker and sicker. Eventually they finally had no choice but to call an ambulance. My mum died a few days later in hospital from the chest infection. I understand covid made things harder but we could not visit during this whole time, no body within abbey gardens advocated for her and she died because her basic rights to adequate medical care were not met!

My dad has been in care for a few months now. I have been nothing but impressed with the level of care and professionalism from day one. Clear transparent communication, I never have a doubt that he is not only will looked after but treated with genuine kindness and respect. Thank you!!!
