They are basically to both refuse cases & rubber stamp Access Canberra's appalling decisions.Go to the ACT Human Rights Commission if you can. They are on YOUR side.

Ridiculous place with partial mediators" biased towards tenants. They should instead be called instigators and not mediators. Laura you're a joke. Shame on you"

Whilst the member ruled in my favour the whole experience of dealing with ACAT was riddle with having to put up with rude and unprofessional behaviour with just about everyone that works there. Almost everyone that works there is rude, obnoxious and unprofessional including the members themselves. The ruling was only 90% in my favour when the other party was 100% at fault. How does that work?

Pretty underwhelming and informal rental dispute process. The remediator tries to pressure and rush a decision so they don't have to process further. If you're a tenant, don't let them pressure you, stand your ground and make sure you have evidence available. Not a fun job for them working there though to be fair.

An absolute joke of a place where evidence is not used to form judgement but where a personal dislike for the nature of a hearing takes the lead and where it's members will lie and manipulate evidence to bend and twist it to which ever way they want it to go to suit their personal profile, it appears the role of the president is to protect the tribunal members instead of insuring they are operating within the law and rules set out for the tribunal to be operating by, my experience is they will lie, manipulate and heavily edit the findings in given evidence to the public to make their judgement look justified " and legitimate while of course completely slandering you giving a false sense of information of the entire situation to the public

The tribunal is run in a way that places money at the forefront of their priorities, the members treat people in a condescending way. The tribunal also seems to be primarily used by rich people to bully poor people out of their money, not because they want the money but just because they want to hurt people, it's a very sad state of affairs where all it takes is a few bucks for the government to abandon their supposed goal of uplifting the downtrodden and happily serve as a boot with which to kick a man when he's already down.

nothing but unfair objective place. not a place to use law to protect yourself. victims will be exploited, bullies will gain more profit. wake up baby, laws are unable to save you!

ACAT supported me through a claim against one of the ACT's electricity companies and were able to deliver what I felt was a very fair outcome.

Remember , there were lies in those unrecorded meetings. Their objective is less hearing rate and settle the disputes as early as possible by whatever means.Former presidential member Bill Stefaniac deceived me into accepting his mediation by lying about the rules with very aggressive and rude attitudes. That's his strategy to solve the disputes. Both the former ACAT president and Attorney-General replied there were nothing they can do about it when complaints were made. How Pathetic! The former team only thing ACAT cares is to decrease hearing rate and they

This is where staff of Govt denigrate those suffering physical injuries and intentional acts by ACT Govt staff to harm people that the ACAT staff piss upon from a great height just for fun. Those with incomplete or false medical histories maintained by persons engaging in concealing medical harms can be easily treated with services that use the same incomplete medical history to negate their intentional negligence of using a computer record keeping system which differs from the medical history kept in hard copy record storage (thats another sub directory not looked in by ER, GP's and other services like court inquests into early death). Applications can and are filed by the AFP to conceal medical malpractices and the behaviours of those whom write laws which require no complete medical record to be obtained before any act of prescription of any medication (those with lung damage are told to consume medication known by TGA to cause lung and heart conditions, heart conditions are not reported when you go to see the ER for that lung). And if you show blood tested signs of disease they will still tell you that your fine and lie to your face...For the crime of murder you get murder in return.... Dear ACT Housing: do you still think that naked man exposing himself to child was somehow not a crime?
