The hot food was very good, I had the Eggs Benedict with bacon. Well cooked and nicely prepared. I also had a tall latte which the coffee was burnt and milk way too hot and put into a steaming hot glass that I couldn't pick up without a napkin. We also ordered a Vegemite sandwich that was so thick with vegemite it was almost inedible. The service was under par, I had to wait for the waitress to get off her phone to be served and even then she still used her phone through my transaction. I watched other people frustrated at the service too as they waited watching them all on their phones not paying attention. Good food, terrible coffee, nice atmosphere and awful service. I probably won't come back or recommend this place.

The waitress didn’t take my order properly, I asked for chicken and avocado with my Caesar salad. Twice. Didn’t come with any avocado. When I asked for a refund of $4 she argued that I didn’t ask for it. The actual salad, at best, was ok. DEFINITELY not worth the price. Won’t come again, this was my second chance visit from a previous ordinary meal and unfriendly staff.

We went to shingle in ordered and paid a 15% surcharge due to public holiday which was understandle. The power went out before we got our food and drinks. My partner got his shake and i had to change my iced coffee to a iced chocolate. This was the only communication we got from the staff. We were not offered a refund or gift card for our already paid meal. I understand the power outage was no ones fault but the service following the outage was sub par. We left without getting our food, a refund or gift voucher. The staff need more training on customer service for these unusual situations. Very disappointing.

$21.60 for a small salad sandwich (no meat). Thought that included the drink but they came over with receipt after I had eaten to advise me that they forgot to charge for drink - $4.50 for small bottle of mineral water on top of sandwich. Which I had to request after I’d eaten anyway as they forgot to deliver with meal. Absolutely ridiculous amount for a plain and frankly not very good small sandwich. I won’t be back. Service was poor. Man on counter had no idea how to operate register. They tried to charge my friend $40 for bacon and eggs on toast. We will definitely not return to this place!

First of all, I ate all of my meal before my friend even got hers. I even waited hoping hers would come out soon but it began to get cold. My chips were burnt and super salty. So was the bacon on my sliders…. Literally black and crumbled as I ate it. My friend couldn’t take more than 4 bites her burger due to the amount of sauce it was drenched in. Simply slack and not happy.

I went here at Shingle Inn Capalaba with my friend yesterday afternoon. My order was delicious, I had the bacon and halloumi sliders with fries and a large chai latte. We sat for ages very comfortably in one of the booths, just eating and chatting. The customer service was great and our order came out fast. The shop was clean and well kept. It’s a lovely place for a catch up with friends. We’ll definitely be back again, the only thing I would recommend is you wear a cardigan because we were sitting under the aircon and it was a little cool there but it’s a very lovely cafe so you must try it out.

OMG, We had an awful experience a few months back and thought we would give it another go. After ordering our 2 sandwiches and 2 hot drinks we were told that there was a 20 minute wait. We said yes thinking that we could have a chat while having our drinks while waiting the 20 mins. By the way ...a 20 minute wait with only 6 others in this excuse for a cafe! After 30 minutes - still no drinks, After 35 minutes we went up to the register and asked for our money back and went to another shop nearby and had a lovely lunch for half the price and fast service (while they were busy). Interesting point here, there was no hesitation in giving us a refund, I would say they are used to this request. My advice to management is, if you run a business like this, close the doors before you go broke and read your reviews. Its not pretty!

The service was average the tall girl with long curly hair was very disrespectful when talking about a person on there first shift her words she had to baby sit him it was the young guys first shift it cold of been his first ever job we have all been there l told her not to speak like that. So l order my sandwich & Coffee but before l could sit l had to clear my table l asked for a cloth so that l could wipe down the table and l noticed three other tables still had dirty plates on them l did take photos when girl brought my coffee to the table she looked quite pead off because l asked for a cloth to wipe down the table she would not let me wipe down the table she made me wait for her to do it mind you l was the only person that had orded any thing so getting back to my Coffee it tasted disgusting it was way to hot not even 2 sugars could make it taste nice and to top it off the coffee mug had a big chip where you would put your mouth so that is unhygienic plus the dirty dishes left on tables l don't think this place is up to Strach, it is sad . When the plates were finally removed the tables did not get whipped down not very good at all.Cleanliness is for every one's health.

Staff are slack, unmotivated and uncaring. Took 20mins to get our drinks (an iced latte and a drink out of the fridge), my latte was burnt and tasted foul. I then asked on the progress of our meals at the 30minute point, they were still being made but weren’t finished as the manager went to the bathroom. Seriously guys. You were not busy, paying customers should not have to wait 40+ minutes to get subpar food. Terrible experience.

Went to shingle inn yesterday with my mum, grandma, My son and daughter. Absolutely horrible!We all ordered after one another and each came out at different times. Waiting over 30 mins for my grandmas coffee to arrive which was cold and asked for it extra hot. after we had already got everything else she ordered after me. Cafe wasn’t busy. And was only 1 other booth table and 4 tables around the other side.My daughter who is 2 had her baby chino bought to the table when touching it, it Felt extremely hot in my fingers. Told the lady to see if she can remake it for us as it’s to hot. She said no worries and took it back. After waiting over 10 minutes nothing had been bought back. My mum Went up and asked and got told it had been put in the fridge. Not only did it not get remade. Cold milk, then steamed to hot milk, left out for a while milk should never be put back in the fridge to cool then be served to some one! After mum come back to the table as they told us they will bring it out we waited another 5 minutes until I went up and asked where it is. The lady was rude and told me she was to busy. The store was not busy! Asked the lady where my daughters baby chino is and told me she’s bringing it out. I told her no to just give it to me as we have been waiting ages. And I told her you should never put milk that’s been steamed back in the fridge she rolled her eyes at me. Grabbed the baby chino out of the fridge behind her and put it on the bench.Not once did any one come and check on us as they knew we were not happy, nor did they apologise or remake anything or offer any complementary anything as we told them we had been waiting ages no apologies from any one.Disgusting and horrible service not to mention the price for what you pay for! $12 for a bottled drink, soggy side of chips n sauce and a baby chino feel like the price is so high just to receive horrible service.
