Home to beautiful views on a clear day, Fort Rock is one of the coolest places I went, when I was out in the Blue Mountains. I sat up there about half an hour, taking in the views and getting lots of pictures, and didn't see a soul. It's only about 1.5km from town, but you do have to go up and down though a fairly narrow trail through the bush to get there. If you're used to some off-the-beaten-path hiking, and don't mind taking it a bit slowly, it's an absolutely stunning destination, and completely worth the trip.

Without doubt one of the most beautiful and special areas of the Blue Mountains! The Centennial Glen region is full of short to medium walks, many of them not mentioned on the official maps, but all amazing in their own way. Definitely worth a visit!

Great Vista point that overlooks a valley at the blue mountains. It is not far from the start of the porters Pass trailhead.

Nice short walk out (15-20 minutes for us, even in the dark on the way back) for a great view of sunset out over the valley.Easy walk, but watch out for the mozzies as it darkens.

Great time to come and enjoy the beautiful scenery here in mid spring. Lovely flora and fauna with plenty of greenery to admire. It's a little dry here. If you're going on a hike, be reminded to take plenty of water and wear something cool and loose. Enjoy

This a great spot with an easy walk from town. Our kids, 7 , 11 and 14 had a great time. It is a really nice walk down through the valley then back up to the rock itself.Because you want to be there approaching sunset the valley does get very cold in the autumn and winter evenings.The lookout gets crowded so go early, there is some exploring to do wandering around the rock. If taking young kids be aware of the steep, rocky terrain amd the presence of substantial cliffs.Also be aware that after you watch the sunset the return walk will be unlit, so take torches if you are doing this.
