Chateau Tanunda

Was ok, but I had high hope and perhaps was expecting a little more. My experience felt more like of a tourist stop then the personal, memorable and fun wine stops that I’ve previously had.The grounds are magnificent and the cellar door/tasting area looks grand, but it’s letdown by the lacklustre staff. No greetings upon arrival. The wines however were amazing and enjoyable.

Wonderful premises, well kept and the gardens even at the end of winter were colourful and pristine. A great piece of Barossa history and well worth the visit. We didn't do the tour or tasting this time around as we've done it before, so popped buy to purchase some of our favourite Reds!

Incredible atmosphere. Superb wine.I recommend to play croquet and also eat before go.

Beautiful grounds but it pretty much stops there. Went to the cellar door on the 16th of April and was greeted by an older man who told us to walk around and read the signs/history before coming back to take a seat for tastings. We chose our tasting flight (around $20) and the man was very knowledgeable about the history and substance of the wines, however after just 1 or 2 tastings out of the flight we were passed onto a girl in her 20's (as the older man then served a couple doing a more expensive flight) that appeared to have very little knowledge or understanding when I asked questions about some of the wines. I left feeling very disappointed with a sour taste in my mouth that despite liking some of the wines, was not in a rush to buy any afterwards due to the brush off feeling we got. Please make sure ALL of your staff take the care and dedication to your wine like the older man does.

Firstly the whole chateau is just beautiful and well maintained. Very friendly staff working there. Lastly the wines produced by them are 5 stars! Highly recommended to visit when in Barossa. By the way we were served by Vickie who is such a friendly person!

Visited in a group of 50 from Thermomix® conference, lovely wines and beautiful magnificent chateau. Definetely worth considering getting the wine there as you couldn’t really get these at local shops. Especially love the guided tour and you’ll get to taste the grape juices before turning into wines.

Did the $50 bespoke wine tasting 50-150 year old wines. It was amazing, the smell in the cellars was rich with wine and pak barrels. The staff were friendly and informative. Was an absolute pleasurable experience.
