Was kept up to date the whole time my front bumper was in. They called me on the Friday afternoon advising they would like to keep it over the weekend to make sure the paint was set correctly. Paint work was great. Would recommend them again.

Would not recommend anyone to use Alexander body work.Horrible at communicating and have been given 4 different pick up dates which have all been incorrect and nothing was said until I called or went in to talk to them. Was originally given a 3 month wait time and it is now pushing 5 months. They have used every excuse in the book for why it is not ready in time yet no evidence to back up what they are saying. This place seems to take on way to many jobs with not enough employees and leave people waiting months for there cars to be fixed with no communication.I picked up my car today that was meant to be ready early March and still interior lights are not working, no glove box and the car is disgusting and dirty.Extremely disappointed, if you are thinking of taking your car here I would definitely re think.

I can't recommend these guys... Their communication is terrible, I've always been promised a call back on progress, and yet I've been the one who's had to call. Our stolen car has been there since the first week of September, and I know they've had to work with Audi, but no one at Alexander's has had a clue what stage our car was up to. They're not alone, it's seems most people and businesses in Townsville are blaisé with regards to communication, but very frustrating. If you are with AAMI keep in mind, they are their repairer, so you're stuck with your choice.

The WORST customer service I have ever experienced. Have been given 6 or 7 different pick up dates so far. 0 communication unless I call first. 100% do not recommend and if your insurance makes you go here tell them about the reviews and that you don’t feel comfortable sending your car here.I was told my car was ready and the next morning I go into the store to pick it up and I am told they do not have the part? How hard is it to communicate with the customer? After begging my insurance for a hire car I finally get one, told my car is ready the following week.Called Alexander body works the day before to confirm it was 100% ready as I need to return the hire car and can not waste any more time, confirmed it is ready for collection in the morning.RETURNED the hire car only for Alexander body works to tell me they still do not have the part?? How was it 100% fixed the day before if the part has still not arrived? They have “ordered the wrong part” 4 times now not sure if this is true or just the excuse they use.

Absolutely shocking. Was told 2 weeks. We had a family holiday booked a month away. Told no worries.Extended one week, then 2 weeks, now we are over 5 weeks. Just got a text when we are meant to pick up it up today (despite me calling yesterday and the day before to confirm today will be okay), it's being extended again to next week. We are over $1000 into car hire, couldn't go on our family camping holiday and lost our annual leave. Will never ever come back. GO ELSEWHERE. They clearly accept work they can't do/don't have time for. RACQ should not use these guys anymore. Will give them feedback.

I would encourage you to seek an alternate repairer. Push back if your insurer tries to send you here- I wish I had.Excessive delay and meaningless automated SMS progress update after update. After 2 months of ETA after ETA passing by, being told if delays are expect we will call you" and having to follow up time and time again as each one passed by. Being lied to over the phone! and finally when pressed the staff felt 'staff shortages' was a reasonable and justifiable explanation. -zero consideration for a one car family with an infant and zero appreciation for the cost.It costs nothing to tell the truth and be transparent. That I can deal with.'Do Better! Alexander Body Works'-but do yourself a favour and seek elsewhere."

Had my vehicle sent here for repairs through insurance - accident no fault of my own. Thankfully only a 5 week wait compared to the almost 3 months that was expressed through their message service.Upon collecting my car it was brought out to the front, vehicle running. Checked the work to exterior which all looked fine. Drove my vehicle to work and got on with my day, later went to get back into my vehicle and had issues with turning it on - called the work shop and asked if they had to disconnect the battery/jump started the car or experienced issues trying to turn it on and continuously gave me an indirect answer. Called multiple times and at one time got told it may be a flat battery due to being at the yard for so long and not being turned on and that it wouldn't be covered by insurance and that i would need to pay for it. . . However still would not directly answer my questions asked. (the clock was 2 hours out of time, radio's not set, and trip meter changed which confirmed something had been)After disputing this and arguing with my insurance (after waking up with a dead car and unable to make it to work) got the battery replaced through my claim. i don't think anyone would expect to be picking up there car and needing to replace the battery the day after.Wasn't until i re attended the workshop and asked to speak to the manager that i got an apology, mind you still not a genuine one. But yet still no direct answer to if they jump started the car or experienced issues trying to turn it. Every time i tried to ask the manager he deflected with blame placed else where or on anther person and then he dismissed the conversation saying we weren't going to get any where. Extremely poor communication within this place.Reading reviews i am not the first person this has happened to. . . . the whole experience could be changed by being transparent with customers and telling them from the get go, if your car is here for more than 4 weeks you may need to replace your battery if not covered by insurance. While people still may not be happy at least it prepares them for the potential expense and not being left without a working vehicle yet again.Actually quite sad to see the down turn within this business as i dealt with them roughly 4 years ago through an insurance claim also and had a much better experience.

I have had 2 insurance claims with RACQ done by Alexander Body Works, both were not my fault. RACQ recommended Alexander Body Works so I went with their recommendation. The work that was done to my car was well in some parts. Such as the paint colour matching on point and the panel shape work was done well. Also they were super friendly to me. However, there were some issues on their work that really outweighed their positives. The first repair I did with them, my side mirror came back with a very concerning and noticeable bleach spray splatter effect on the plastic. They did not notice this and I had to drive back and show them. They could not explain the reasoning behind it but I believe it was very noticeable to not be missed.Additionally, I had numerous bumps in my paint. These bumps should of been fixed before they gave back my car. I had to look for these bumps though and let the manager know that I wanted these bumps fixed. If I didn't do this myself I don't think they would of know or told me and my paint would of had bumps in it for its lifetime. They made me come back when it was a more suitable time for them. I had to go back after a month to get these issues fixed, noting they had my car for 8 days for a reasonably small job and delayed the due date by 1 day.The second repair I had the same issue with numerous bumps in my paint. Again I had to show these out to them or they would of not know or told me and my paint would of had bumps in it for it's lifetime. They did not replace my scratched/semi cracked window when I specifically asked for them too. I had to come back again when it suited them to fix theses bumps in the paint and to replace my window. When I received my car back there were still bumps in the paint that they missed and I asked if my paint protection was done. Unfortunately my paint protection was not done so I had to go back a 3rd time to get these issues fixed. They had my car for 14 days the first time and then a day for each time after that. It was a really inconvenience to me to have to keep coming back to get my car fully fixed when I expected it to be done the first time. Also they kept delaying the date to when my car would be fix for the initial repair with a extra 4 days added on.The first repair I was understanding and accepted these issues might be a one off but after my second repair it was just a reoccurring issue. I did get multiple excuses for every time something was not done correctly to my repair and sometimes one person would say a excuse then another would say a different excuse for the same issue which demonstrated to me that one was giving a false excuse. Furthermore, when I had to go back 4 times after my initial repairs it really turned me off their company and demonstrated their professionalism.Overall these negative issues really outweighed the positives and I am now turning to a new panel beater shop of my chosen choice for insurance repairs. I have come to a educated conclusion that better professional quality work can be done else where and with faster timings.I am grateful for them fixing my car which means the world to me however, they did fail in gaining my recommendation to use them.Never forgot you have the right to chose your own repair shop with insurance.

There are honestly no words to describe how incredibly grateful I am to the team at Alexander Body Works. From the beginning the entire team provided top quality customer service. My car was stolen in February 2023 and after months of fighting with my insurer, the only bright light was the people at Alexander Body Works. They understood my situation and actively went out of their way to help in every way they could, despite me being insistent and annoying and always calling to ask for updates. I am beyond thankful that my car was placed with this team.Britt
