Excellent NP to explore! Be sure to do the loop drive, that was stunning!Road in (aswell as the loop) was very 2wd friendly yesterday. Bloody cold! I had 4 layers on at midday and it was still quite fresh

The area has been nicely set out with great interior information and displays plus an interesting outdoor display of the footprints discovered in the Wall of China sandhills. But for us the star attraction was the massive old sheep shearing shed.

A great place to stop for some shade, toilet ammenities and to read some of the information boards about the area. It's very close to the Mungo Woolshed with plenty of parking. It's one of the main stopping points before heading out to the Walls of China. There's a few weeks that start from here too, including the Pastoral Heritage Walk. This spots maintains is presence as a 'meeting place'.

There's not much at the visitor centre and rarely staffed, only generally during school holidays I believe. You have to stop at the visitor centre to pay your daily park fee of $8/day. It's an honesty envelope method. However the park is a different issue, it's easy to be underwhelmed with some sections of the park looking from some of the lookouts. I would suggest doing one of the tours that allows you to wander among the China wall section and you get a totally different perspective looking from the inside out rather than looking into the area from the distant lookouts. Well worth a look if your in the area, but keep an eye on the weather it only takes about 10mm of rain to close the roads. All at least a large part dirt.

The vistor centre where our tour started. Its also got a free museum there. There is replica's of some of the most significant ancient footprints found on lake bed. including toddler running crisscross , a mother carrying a child on hip. hunters running and spear landing plus a something really unusual i wont spoil surprise.
