Bexhill General Store

This store is amazing! Every time I go to Byron I aways visit. Awesome Indian food and the coffees are as good as Sydney except half the price. The owners Libby and Todd are the nicest people, so friendly. It feels like the heart of the community in one place.

Love this store. Great fresh produce, big range of Indian products as well as gluten free products. Hot food available.

Cleaner than ever! Don't let the pale faces fool you, the best curries on earth. Tender and delicious.

Obviously very local-centric. Thought I'd drop in on the way to a job and grab a coffee. Firstly, no one doing coffee. Then when someone finally arrives and asks for my order - not even an attempt at friendliness. Took my order. Some obvious locals came in. Took their orders. Theirs were filled before mine even though mine was ordered way earlier and I had already been waiting 10 minutes. Then - to top it off - coffee only half a cup for $4.50. Never again... Locals can have it.

This is far from the first time that I've spoken to so rudely by the woman working here (owner?), so I can't help but share my latest experience this time. It's mostly been to do with asking for prices of drinks, because they don't list their prices. All I did was ask for the prices of the bottled water. I think I have every right to ask how much something costs before I pay for it and I certainly don't deserve sarcasm and rude remarks for asking such a simple question but she's always like this. Very abrasive attitude. I've been going to this shop for over 20yrs. I miss the old owners and their yummy currys, smiles and positive attitudes. Certainly won't be back to encounter this sour human again.

Maybe good for locals. I popped in on the way to Lismore and thought I would support a small local shop and grab coffee and use a bathroom. Was then told no public toilets available. I almost cancelled my order but I didn't. Large coffee is about the size of a regular coffee.

The new owners are doing a fabulous job of creating something that was great into something even better. The shop is brighter, cleaner and fresher overall...They have a great range of GF yummies and a variety of sexy food for a platter..AND...the curries and samosas and the other curry delights are still the same..fora small independent shop the prices are great...Thankyou for creating a beautiful experience....

I keep giving the people who took over from the family of Indian decent second…. third… and forth chances. The new owners are just straight out rude at times. My son has had mouldy banana bread given to him on one occasion, granted it’s a shop, sometimes things are missed but after the abrupt attitude he experienced from the male owner as he was being served, these things start to stack. And finally, the straw that broke the camel’s back this last time. I very politely, pointed to and specifically, asked for the least cooked of the very over cooked selection of hot food available in the bay Marie, saying,“May I please have the least crunchy one please?” The older male owner just shoved, possibly the most overcooked, selection in a bag and said ‘they have all been cooked the same’.I said nothing but I won’t be back. EVER!PS Everyone is right about their coffee! I bought my own keeper cup asked for the largest coffee they had… was my cup has lines to indicate the ml. 260ml if I counted the top of the milk’s biggest foam bubble ( on a flat white) , and I was charged for a their largest.

Love this general store. Fresh produce, awesome indian takeaway. Hot chips are damn good! Coffee is define. Encourage local small business. The staff are go above and beyond. Genuine down to earth owner. Store also has a small cellar/bottleshop.
