I'm not sure whether the previous reviews could be accurate based on our experience- we found Mr Smith to be very helpful, knowledgeable, prompt and polite. He repaired our machine even whilst recovering from a hospital visit recently which we felt was above and beyond. Would highly recommend!

I was a little concerned at the start, but found he did an amazing job and returned my machine within days. It can be hard to find someone who can repair my model being computerised but he was great with it and had it running again quickly and was happy to help.

he took my sewing machine two months ago and I have never seen my machine again...I called him many times and he answered at the beginning saying he was busy and he was going to have a look eventually, but he never did. Every time I called him I had to explain who I was and which machine I gave to him. Then he ignored my calls.

I would leave no stars if I could! He quoted to replace a part on my machine and bought the machine back two weeks later, and it would not work. After I phoned him and he returned it a second time, still not working, I decided to take it elsewhere for an opinion. Not only did he use a non genuine part, he has now rendered the machine unfixable due to interference in multiple areas of the machine, including actually sawing a section of the machine off!!! Stay clear of this man, as he has no idea what he is doing.

Colin professes to be an expert and likes nothing more than sound of his own voice to confirm that. I took an old Husqvarna machine to him to servuce with a specific instruction to change a motor belt which was slipping. He said he spent 4 hours working on the machine and charged me $175.00. When I collected the machine (Colin doesn't demo machines after completing them) the belt still slipped. 4 weeks later and after yet more extensive self congratulation from Colin I collected the machine again. Colin assured me it had been tested. When I got home the bobbin casing was missing, so I don't know how he was able to test the machine with a vital component missing. So 3 trips later I got my machine back. Sending a machine back with basic parts missing is inexcusable, but listening to Colin you'd be led to believe that this is just part of his exclusive servive. Colin takes money, but does not provide a service that is commensurate with the expertise he professes to poses. Within 10 minutes I found the same parts on eBay from the UK that he was certain were not available anywhere... If a you have an issue with a sewing machine, do yourself a favour and go elsewhere.Response to Colin 9 MarchSorry Colin, I just couldn't you have the last word on just how unprofessional and dishonest to are. It appears once again your absent mindedness has continued. So you no pretend to have done me a favour in replacing the missing part that you lost from my machine, the machine that you didn't check it bother testing before you returned it to me for the third time... Yes remember you lost the beautiful original Bobin from my 50's Husqvarna when to you took it to a third party to have it repaired, remember, because you're unable to actually fix anything if it's more than replacing a nutThen you have the ordasity to self congratulate again on saving the day to anyone who will listen. It's interesting that your reply relies on repeated UPPER CASE sentence construction, but then that's all is expect from someone whose response to customers who question your archaic mechanical analogies is to SHOUT AT THEM VERY LOUDLY IN THE HOPE THEY'LL GIVE IN. You have the skill of shed jock tinkerer and send all repairs to a third party claiming the work as your own; in short your a con artist Colin and nothing more.
