It was early, I was completely sober, nobody in the line and the guy in the entrance didn’t let me go inside, just because I was alone… ( he told me that) haha is that a reason or is that discrimination

Great fun 80's bar! Will definitely be back!

Turned up to the bar to enjoy a night of karaoke in the city (I’m from the country), only to be turned away and told by the bouncer that he isn’t letting me in. When I asked why, he only said “it’s a bar policy to not allow guys in on their own”. I wasn’t rude or anything, I’d had absolutely nothing to drink beforehand and wasn’t staggering or anything. I was extremely disappointed and if this is a policy, it’s certainly not advertised on your website. And were that the case, I’d not have bothered to make the trip into the bar after hearing other rave reviews about the karaoke night! Personally, I felt the bouncer didn’t want to let me in for his own reasons. More racist and discriminatory than anything. I did also attempt to message via your Facebook page, with zero response. Extremely disappointed with the lack of response and the disgusting behaviour of your bouncer. I can’t recommend this place any less after that as my first experience at even trying to visit. The Lame Duck, very lame indeed!*** UPDATE ***Confirmed by the business that it is a policy to not allow men on their own in, they put it down to predatory behaviour. And instead of addressing the actual problem, they just blanket rule banned any guy on their own from coming in. Pretty disappointing and disgusting behaviour when I’ve noticed other reviews here stating that same predatory behaviour towards female patrons is coming from some of their bouncers. Fix the actual issue here, don’t paint banning potential patrons as a solution because you can’t be bothered to fix the real problem. Get better bouncers that actually do their job and don’t harass your female patrons. And stop the discrimination.

Without a doubt, every time my friends and I attempt to enter the lame duck without cis-women with us the bouncer openly, unashamedly and with the subtly of a pipe bomb will say we will not be let in because they are only allowing mixed groups in tonight" and then will proceed to let in a large group of women behind us. If we had known the women in line with us would that have made a difference?Whether we are tipsy

Came here for a friend's Birthday, if you love older music this is the place for you! The entire club seemed to be having such a great time, dancing alot. They have afew booths to sit in. Some people are OK to share or allow you to leave your jacket and some aren't happy to share. I recommend checking this place out if you are older and feel like dancing to music you are familiar with. Great atmosphere!

The website states they are open at 8pm on Thursdays for Karaoke. Went at 9.15pm last week and the place was empty! I was the only person there and the bar staff just stood around chatting - didn't acknowledge me or let me know about the karaoke. Maybe it doesn't kick off until midnight, but who's to know? I left.

I couldn't give less than 0, I wanted to have a night out with my friends, I really wanted to try this night club, because a lot of people suggested me to try it, and I'm in love with 80's music. But the guy in the front couldn't let me go in. I had my driver license stuck in my wallet, and the bouncer thought I was drunk, because I was struggling getting it out. The problem was also that I was trying to explain the situation, but my English is not that good, because I'm not from Australia, and because of that he rejected us. I was really disappointed, there were people drunk for real, that he let them entering, and he refuse me only because I wasn't a native English speaker, or for other discriminatory reason. I'm so sorry because I think it would be a beautiful night and it seems a really nice and cool place to go! Unfortunately I will not come back. :(

Amazing down to earth dance party! Great DJs!

The cocktails here were fantastic and the vibe was great. It gets really hot when it fills up, but there are some great seating areas that can double as dancefloor for larger groups. Staff were lovely too and the music was a mixture of hits through the last few decades. The place filled up and a line started outside a little after 10pm.

Bouncer wouldn't let me in, because I was alone. What a LAME thing to say to someone who's visiting from out of town and just wants to have a good night.
