Urban Bake House

Walked past this clean, well presented, bakery of delights a few times before I realised they sell Vietnamese salad bowls. Well, let me tell you, I made the fastest beeline for the counter to order one! They seem to be few and far between in Brisbane, so I was EXCITED! staff were a little busy but nice. Brusque as Vietnamese are (very rare I've come across a Vietnamese business owner/worker who stops to chat, and this doesn't bother me, I assume it their way and they value their time being busy working and stocking etc) and served efficiently.I got my treat home, opened this gift from the gods, and BEHOLD! It was DELICIOUS!!!!!! the dressing was amazing with that lovely layered hotness that doesn't burn the mouth but makes it tingle, and a great balanced mix of the pork, carrot, cucumber, vermicelli, lettuce, cashews. Absolute bargain too, at $9.90.

Great little bakery. A good range of bakery usual's and nice vietnamese meals. Good service with a smile.

I was craving a Bahn Mi but the shop was almost closed so they had run out. The kind staff member offered to make me a fresh one. Such good service

I bought a beef and mushroom pie from here. It was priced at $5.50 which is okay price-wise according to 2021 prices. It was also a good size and not skimpy in volume. But I expected better quality. The pastry was pale and undercooked but had a pleasing crumbly/flaky texture. The gravy had good flavour but there was no evidence of any mushrooms in the pie. And it was full of hard gristly bits like tough sinew. All they have to do to make it good is buy better quality meat, add mushrooms and cook the pastry a little longer so that it's golden.

Went to grab what I thought was a freshly baked pie from the hot box about 30min after open. But it was stone cold in the middle and the pastry was hard. This honestly makes me believe this bakery reuses and reheats its pies and products not sold from the previous day. I would recommend going to any other bakery or even the woolies next door for fresher baked goods

I want to tell everyone about their lemon grass bahn mi rolls, but then they'll just run out quicker...Noodle salad is also fantastic.And their rice paper rolls.Damn, the whole selection is just great.

Sold a cupcake with the whole bottom half hidden with plastic and unwrapped it to find it was COVERED in MOULD!!!! The health inspectors should definitely check this place out!!! Lucky my wife did not eat this cupcake as she would have gotten very sick!!! I have photos and cannot even call or email the bakery as they have no contact information! Don’t waste your money on this place!! It looks pretty on the outside but I have never in my life seen such unhygienic food!!! How could you possibly not know you are serving food covered in mould?!!? The worst part is, the top of the cupcake looks fresh and it looks like they knew it was old and put the better newer looking cake on the top of it so it would sell!!! Only care about money and how things look, the owners don’t care about food quality or any food safety measures!

Bought sandwiches, Vegemite scroll, and chocolate muffin. Sandwiches fine but scroll and muffin days old. If I wasn't starving and it wasn't right on closing time they would have gone back. Not acceptable for a bakery""

Have bought at least three different types of bahn mi over a few months. Each time I have asked for them to be as spicy as possible to make it authentic Vietnamese. Each time it turned out to be mild to no chilli taste. Wasn't that impressed.

Asked for one of the many fresh sausage rolls just put out noticing one left as I could clearly tell it was an old one from earlier. Was refused and offered the old one. No thanks, see ya.
