We had a fantastic time at the zoo! It's only quite small, but they have a great range of endangered animals to see and interact with. The animal encounters are very reasonably priced and the staff were friendly and knowledgeable about the animals, and clearly cared about their wellbeing. We were informed when we booked that some of the animals may not want to interact with you, and you must respect that. We were very lucky though that all the animals seemed very happy to interact with people! The kiosk has a small range of staples, like fish and chips, toasted sandwiches, and ice-creams, plus cold and hot drinks. They were reasonably priced though and there's a comfortable seating area to eat and watch various animals. There is also a BBQ area and you can bring your own food and drinks. You will need to bring your own water if you don't want to buy some as they don't have water bottle refill stations. One thing we did find was that on a hot day there isn't a lot of shade or seating away from the kiosk area where you could sit and rest. They usually have a mobility scooter you can borrow, however when we were there the battery had died and needed to be replaced.

What a great experience, the staff/keepers were so lovely it was honestly refreshing. It was so nice to see all the wildlife kept so healthy and with a vast amount of land for each animal. I came to see the giraffes. (which I got to meet and greet with, such a spectacular experience). Can not recommend enough for all ages!!

Nice zoo with lots of different animals. There are lots of empty enclosures, though. Some enclosures are a little old-fashioned. Zoo is presented in a more farm style" manner

The animal encounters are definitely value for money! We paid to have a cuddle with a wombat and a Tasmanian devil. Was not expecting the photo to come free.Bring your own water unless you don't mind paying. We thought we'd be able to refill, but because they only have tank water, they do not recommend drinking it, which was fine.

Really nice zoo to visit if you are around launceston. Smaller to any zoo we have been. But can see animals really closely compare to other zoo. They also have lots of endangered animals. Highly recommend if you have kids who love to feed the animals…

Enjoyed our visit, was fairly quiet as we went on a weekend during off peak times. Great arrange of animals to see. Weren't overly active when we visited. Price of entry was reasonable. We paid $90 for 2 adults, a 3yr old, and baby was free.

Great experience of the zoo with family on Easter Saturday. Unfortunately for staff the Eftpos was down when we arrived so only cash or online tickets could go through. Would recommend purchasing tickets in advance to skip the queue. Going into the petting farm was great and witnessing the cheetahs while they are was more exciting than normal cheetah watching.
