I'm not sure what has happened to Samies. It used to be so consistently great. Today, we got the Salt and Pepper Calamari & Crumbed Fish and paid extra for thick cut - beer battered chips. The calamari was $11.90 and TINY and undercooked. I couldn't finish it because it was so terrible. The Fish and Chips weren't much better, they had put a few thick cut chips scattered over the top of the cheap chips which were so so bad. So disappointing!!

If I were reviewing this 2 years ago, it would be a 5.However, over the period of time since 2020, the quality in the food from Samies has very much declined. We are local to Samies (living upstairs) and when we moved in, we were so impressed by their food.We don’t eat it a lot but the last year or so we get it, we always seem disappointed by it.The chips have changed. The burgers have changed. The customer service is pretty weak.I got a chicken burger last week and the chicken was non existent - it was a flat piece of crumb! My partner gets the seafood basket and everytime lately has been feeling gross after due to the amount of oil and salt.Samies was always the option with visitors, now I’m too embarrassed to suggest it as an option due to the lack of quality. Not sure what you guys did to alter what you were doing, or even why you needed to (things worked so well!) - but it’s not working now.I will never be back.

Great oysters, salmon was delicious, nice meal. Disappointed that your prices advertised within the shop are incorrect and “outdated” so you had to add another $5.00 onto the oyster price!

It's a decent fish and chips restaurant in Hamilton. I had cod, chips and a Greek salad. The portion of the fish was good and the salad tasted good. However, the chips didn't seem to be as delicious as before. I remember that chips used to be very delicious. There are many outdoor tables outside the restaurant, so you can eat comfortably with your dog. When there are many customers waiting, you may have to wait for more than 15 minutes.

The best seafood in Hamilton. More variety with higher quality seafood at cheaper pries than their nearby competitors. Good staff service. The new store is much better than the old store down the road. This new store has outdoor seating on a quiet road, fully undercover. Unlimited free water, sauces, salt & pepper satchels and cutlery. Great place to go on weekends to relax and unwind.

If you need the best seafood, this is it. You will certainly pay a premium for it, but the quality is assured. It's worth the drive for special occasions. If you simply must silence those critical relatives at Christmas or if you're just curious to taste the best, this is your destination.

Lovely service, beautiful quality. The Barra combo was delicious, the garden salad was nice and refreshing. If I had to be picky it would be that the B grade chips are not very appealing but everything else was great. We will definitely be back

See this lovely foods,I love this shop's fish and chips.I can not find better fish and chips than this place in my opinion.Crumbed hoki and battered mullets were enoughly crispy, see that colour perfect golden brown. And the grilled baby octopus was melted in my mouth enoughly chewy and sweet.I had lovely dinner today thanks to this shopI wish this place stay forever for me and my wife.

The fish and the chips were very tasty, but you have to pay extra if you want ketchup AND tartare sauce. The tartare sauce was also transparent and tasteless.
