This amazing experience is difficult to write about as words seem inadequate. A few come to mind... remote, wilderness, stunning scenery, gourmet food, Tasmania, wine, knowledge, experience seamanship, comfort, fun ..... The trip ticked just about every box for us. Plenty of exercise if you want it climbing the numerous peaks around Port Davey overlooking spectacular mirrored images in the tannic waters. Afterwards, fabulous food created by Ken,our onboard chef, from the well equipped galley, accompanied by beverages.Skipper Pieter’s skill in riding the Southern Ocean swells into the outer islands was another very different and exciting adventure. Our guide Peter’s encyclopaedic knowledge of local flora, fauna and history interpreted this rare corner of the world adding so much to the experience. You may be as lucky as we were to sight one of only 40 orange bellied parrots estimated to be left in the wild, feeding quietly near huge aboriginal middens,on a far away beach of the southern ocean....Worth every centSue

Amazing experience on Odalisque last weekend. The wilderness and natural beauty are only outdone by the crew and staff who make every minute there that much better. Many thanks to Pieter (Skipper) for all of the local knowledge and for keeping our trip entertaining. The boat has generous births and all the creature comforts to make your stay aboard comfortable after a day of scenic hikes and touring. Can’t recommend this enough, if you are thinking about booking this, do it! There is no better way to see the remote and wild south western coast of Tasmania.Update:I enjoyed my first trip on Odalisque so much 3 years ago that we went back again this February (2022) with my fiancé. The 4 days we spent this time were everything that I had experienced on my first trip and more. Every trip is different so while I knew were a few things were this time, nothing felt like a repeat. The food from Chef Courtney was amazing and outdid even the meals from my first adventure.Special thanks to Peter Marmion our guide for his seemingly bottomless knowledge of the area that I expect only 50 years of experience can produce. My 3 year old review on Odalisque and Tasmanian Boat Charters stands true today and I continue to recommend this trip to anyone coming to Tasmania as well as Tasmanian locals.

Tassie's south-west wilderness is truly one of the world's most unspoiled natural places. I was so lucky to do so with such a friendly crew onboard the luxurious Odalisque headed up by their knowledgeable and experienced skipper Pieter.Loved the escape from the hassles of everyday city life and a chance to recalibrate off the grid in Tasmania's south west. We saw some of the rarest birds, viewed the homes and remnant work structures of our early pioneers, amazing middens, marveled at the breathtaking scenery and wild rivers. The Odalisque was a great home base with fantastic food, including the freshest crayfish. Can't thank you enough and can't stop telling friends about the experience.

We booked with On Board for my Dad's 70th Birthday Party and it went extremely well. It was the perfect way to celebrate on the water with group of 38. The crew were friendly and fun.

This trip is so unique. What a special way to experience the remote South West of Tasmania. It’s true, at 33 and 40 years old we were the youngest aboard, but that just meant our wine drinking buddies could teach us a thing or two, and we didn’t have to feel bad about being out of breath at the top of a hike! Mountain hikes, tinny tours and beach walks. We didn’t sit still much. We definitely earned our happy hour, which conveniently occurs at any time you decide. Being out of phone/wifi reception was so refreshing! I was still able to identify and learn about the various types of sea anemone, dolphins, birds and aborigine culture using a hard-cover book, via an index - it’s been a while since I did that!I’ve never eaten so much in my life. Shout out to Chef Courtney for 110% keeping us plentifully fed and for being so resourceful with leftovers (savoury muffin anyone?). Dietaries absolutely accommodated and accounted for. Shout out to our tour guide Pete who is hilarious and so charismatic and who knows everything about everything - what he doesn’t know he makes up but you’ll never know it ;) Shout out to our Skipper Pieter who has a lifetime of sea-worthy skill and knows how to keeps things real with a good story or two. Dining with the crew really is the best way to end the day. Our bunks were private and comfortable. There were plenty of blankets and heating to keep us warm. We had our own hot shower ensuite and plenty of room for our belongings. The scenery is stunning. The experience is unique. The stories are mind blowing. The people are unforgettable.

Best decision ever to book the Odalisque for our untraditional wedding. The crew were amazing to deal with both in the lead up and on the actual day. Nothing was too difficult and having the support and easy communication made the day extra special. We had 31 guests and there was ample room both inside and on the deck.We can't highly enough recommend booking the boat out for a glorious time.We would especially like to thank Ella, Bonnie, Pieter and Matthew for a wonderful 3 hour cruise!Hopefully we'll be back for more adventures!
