We had a lovely experience at Wombat Cottage. We stopped by after cherry picking at a nearby orchard. We we’re welcomed with exceptional friendly service and our large group (with many curious kids) catered for. We ordered coffee, milkshakes, some sandwiches and the freshest scones I’ve tasted. All were delicious. The kids left with some lovely souvenirs all locally made and supporting the lovely Wombat community.

An excellent cafe. Stefan a must have been having a very bad day. Excellent, friendly, helpful service, delicious home cooked meals and baked goods. Won’t get better than this within a few cooees. Best iced chocolates ever according to my connoisseur daughter. The lamb pie looked amazing ( and I don’t eat meat!). Everything cooked perfectly and perfect timing. Busy, bustling, warm and inviting. Absolute bargain prices.

The spinach and ricotta cannelloni was delicious and tasted freshly made. Scone was moist and buttery. The owner was very friendly and welcoming. A beautiful selection of local art, produce and craft for sale inside too, will definitely be back!

I took my wife to this café for the first time for Mothers Day not knowing what it would be like. I was pleasantly surprised. This quaint cottage café was, as our host explained, fully booked. She was charming and obliging, asking if it was just the two of us. With a yes from me she directed us to a table adjacent a window, explaining that the couple that it was reserved for had not shown up. It's a lovely line I've heard before, and it never gets old. There was a huge variety of meals and beverages to choose from, and we were not rushed to choose. Our meals were just right, not too large nor too small, and they were very tasty as well. The wait staff had our meals brought to us in less than ten minutes, with our coffees following a few minutes later, not the other way round. Just as it should be. The café is also a gift shop with local products, craft, and art work for sale, and my wife and I were happy to browse. The wait staff were pleasant and courtious and the other patrons were happy to say hello, which made for a very pleasant atmosphere. We had a very enjoyable time and a delightful meal, and we will return.

I went in trusting the reviews that were here, and it is a truly and utterly an understatement to say that i was so disappointed. The only upside to this little place was honestly the service and friendliness of what i assume to be the owner, and she was most welcoming to us.We had a variety of foods and drinks here and they were shockingly average or terrible to be absolutely frank. The coffees were burnt and much too bubbly, we could even hear the lady burn the milk as she attempted to froth it. The tea was as expected, but it would be shocking if they could mess this up. We tried their lemon myrtle cheesecake and chocolate brownie and they were not too bad, nothing so exceptional. It was apparently all homemade so I can appreciate the efforts went into it. The chicken caesar wrap was a whole different story, there were ingredients that should not have been in there and it tasted terrible. We shared the garlic bread and it was probably the only thing that i enjoyed consuming. They also had a nutella sandwich, which i was intrigued by for a cost of $3. They had put butter on one side and nutella on the other, and it was such a disappointment when i opened it up. Its like putting sugar in someones coffee without asking them. To add even more salt to the wound, we were waiting for a good 40 minutes before everything arrived, and there were only 1 other group that were here before us. It was unfathomable to take even 5 minutes to make a nutella sandwich, let alone getting a slice of cake out of the fridge onto a plate for us. This was really the cherry on top of the below average food. We were expecting a quick break here to grab a snack and dip, but it only left a sour taste in our mouths.

A great way to start 2023 for Cootamundra Combined Probus was a lovely morning tea we had today at Wombat Cottage. Cathy opened especially for us and treated us to beautiful delicacies such as fresh scones, vanilla slices, cheesecakes etc.. 20 members attended. Many also took home goodies for the freezer. Thanks so much Cathy and Matt. We will be back again soon.
