Moogerah Lakeside Bush Retreat

Nice spot for camping. This campsite is predominantly set up for school camps and so on, in-fact there were kids from a school leaving when we arrived. Consequently there are a number of boarding accomidation style lodges you can hire, and there are a number of communal facilities such as showers, toilets and so on. For camping, there is some unpowered and powere camping down by the lake, but the difficulty is there is not much level ground at all, and you are not allowed to camp within about 30m of the shoreline. Consequently decent spots to set up are few and far between. The facilities are a bit of a trek from the lakefront campsites, but if you are self contained this is not an issue. There is also camping up by the facilities, nearer all the cabins, but again, flat ground is limited. It’s a beautiful spot, the managers are lovely, and I would definately recommend the place for a weekend. If they could provide some flat ground down by the lake for people to setup, this place would really achieve its full potential, which would be great to see.

There are no level campsites, terrible experience, the grounds are very small and the other campers were so rude, selfish and inconsiderate of anyone else, we were kept awake ALL night because of other peoples children out running around with torches at all hours of the night and early morning in and around our campsite. The kids were playing in the toilets as well, leaving mud through the toilets and showers. The other campers were loud, talking at the top of their lungs ALL bloody night, playing music ALL night and their dogs constantly barking. Not once did the caretakers police a curfew for all noise to stop. People were coming and going in their cars at all hours of the night. People letting their dogs poop wherever and leaving it there. I have never been to a campsite with such a lack of respect for others. The owners/caretakers should take more care of the paying campers and keeping the noise down that the yobbos they've allowed here make. Never ever going back here and would tell anyone to keep clear of this place! Absolutely disgusted at the lack of responsibility of the owners and fellow campers.

First day was perfect ,quiet and relaxed, amenities are clean, but the second day was terrible, when we back to our tent there were big families surrounding our tent, they were extremely rude, kicking our rope made our light dropped and without any apology.

This was a nice place stay mainly because it was so quiet and had we had prime position on the concrete slab site with the grass at the top of the campground. It was $60 for 2A 2C and a dog on a powered site which was the most we’ve paid for camping on over three weeks of camping around in NSW. The lake is nice and just a short walk. There weee two guys ‘fishing’ when we were there but all they caught were turtles. 4 to be exact. I’m sure there’s fish in the lake but most likely not at the waters edge.Men’s toilets needed toilet roll replacement and a clean.

This is one of our favourite camping spots. The warm is lovely and warm, the grounds a clean, there’s ample space between campsites for privacy and the people that fun it are lovely. Looking forward to our next trip.

My kids and I spent two nights in the cabin .kids enjoyed it and been able to have our dog was great definitely be going back longer this time . Clean facilities everything U could need there . Beautiful mountain views. We had the whole place to ourselves lol was FUN

Meghan and Ben have done a wonderful job at this site and are continuing to do so. Quiet and relaxed grounds, all amenities are clean. We stayed in a cottage and our friends had campsites, either option is a great choice.

A great place, lots of space. Great for large groups.

This campsite was terrible for pitching up, too many trees and the ground is uneven and full of ditches, no lighting up to the toilets, wouldn’t return here unfortunately
