Small well designed park with seating, gardens, palm trees and a monument to fallen soldiers.

Fantastic memorial. The old stinky public toilets have been removed and there's a lovely grass area now. .

Lovely oasis in the midst of down town Penrith. Fabulous memorial to the armed services from past history. Includes shade and grassed areas but no facilities. Look for the world map engraved in the pavers which makes an interesting and unexpected feature.

Memory park is very negative as there was always 2 guns in the park to recognise the history of what was used on the battlefield now what remains is the names of the fallen comrades who lost their lives which is a memory of them but a disgraceful move was made when the council got rid of those guns where and where they went to or who pocketed the money for them no one on council can give an answer which is a disgrace would have been a memory for all if they were never gone

Description:The memorial was refurbished recently. The memorial design was chosen form 4 different proposals submitted by Plowright. The Cenotaph construction used 23.5 tonnes of local sandstone, 1 tonne of cast bronze, 316 stainless steel plate, 11 cubic metres of concrete and steel, LED lighting, controllers etc.The 4 figures were cast using the “Lost Wax Technique” and represent Navy, Army, Air force and Wrans. The central stainless contemporary form represents the “Eternal Flame” and incorporates 49 LED’s wired to a control unit which enables each light to flicker on and off randomly. The stainless steel features at the base of our bronze figures are ribbons which help tie or lead the our 4 bronze figurers back into the eternal flame.”There is LED lighting recessed within the main memorial to highlight cavities or spaces helping to create a greater dramatic outcome. Also, 4 major naming walls, each weighing around 2.5 tonnes sit in front but at the side of the main feature.
