Brod is very knowledgeable and helpful, I purchased spotted gum for an outdoor bench seat in a garden area over teak I had originally planned. He suggested the unseasoned spotted gum would be suitable as oven the short lengths that I would cut them into (500mm) they wouldn't warp, just seal the ends.Once the timber arrived in-store I picked it up, was all wrapped up from the. timber mill. On the job site I found that of the 36 or so 2.2m lengths about 11 were riddled with borer holes. I rang back to the store and got Russell this time, who advised that this was normal and I didn't see any head pop up did I when cutting?" I was disappointed as this was for a feature piece and I had to spend time filling borer holes. Should'nt be normal to expect timber with borer holes. I wasn't going to write a negative review but the more I think about it the more borer hole affected timber is not normal and shouldn't be sold as such. 3 Stars - could do better lads.On a side note they were more expensive then Narangba timber but I chose them as they are my local and I wanted to support local."

Bough some ironbark posts from Garde 2 years ago - service was great, advice was great. Now that a friend wants some timber I recommended Garde and thought I'd post a review as the wood has been fantastic quality. It was milled beautifully and has shown now sign of warping or cracking even when exposed to afternoon sun. Highly recommended.

Top notch service and highest quality timber. Used Garde for my deck at the front and could not be happier. Best value for money when considering the balance of material options, price and quality. There are cheaper options out there but you may find out that they are cutting costs one way or the other, you will only find out when it is too late (know from experience)

We recently renovated our heritage listed Queenslander and used Garde Timber to advise us on the best timber to use for many components of the job, from decking, flooring, cladding to benches and bookshelves.
