Interior and service are 5 star, very chill and relaxing but the consistency of the food can be improved. Both the King Prawn Toast and Yakitori were on the drier side (considering its price tag)…the cauliflower blossom needed salt and were somewhat burnt on the sides…we enjoyed the Ocean trout the most as the flavours sat harmoniously together.

The vibe in this restaurant is top tier and is a great place to enjoy the company of friends / loved ones. We loved the candle-lit lighting and lively atmosphere. The music was amazing and the waitress serving us was very helpful. We ordered several dishes but most of them were not amazing or worth the price. However, the drinks, beef tongue and pineapple skewers, and the banoffee dessert were absolutely phenomenal and I would honestly return just to order those three things. This is definitely a place that you should visit at sunset / evening rather than during the day to truly appreciate its ambience.

5 star for the location, view, service & ambience, it’s a lovely spot for hangout & drinks in Barangaroo. We came here because it’s one of the nice few places that still welcomes dine in patrons after 9pm (we actually arrived 9.30pm!). While the Food menu’s presents interesting twists, it is slightly on the higher side and not quite memorable enough to warrant the next visit anytime soon. Tried the Wagyu Tataki $36, King Prawn Toast $15ea, Wagyu Karubi Steak $60 (unfortunately was quite tough), Cauliflower Blossom $15 (cauli was no longer available, so was substituted with broccolini instead - the staff told us & we still ordered it anyway). Would still recommend this spot for accepting guests quite late in the evening.

Had a fantastic dining experience here with my friend. We had the omakase and everything brought to our table was amazing and bursting in your mouth with good flavours! The place was vibrant, DJ playing the good vinyl music selection, service was great. Will definitely dine here again.

I recently savored the culinary delights at Rekodo and was thoroughly impressed with the bold and vibrant flavors that graced my palate. The menu boasts a myriad of dishes that showcase the nuanced flavors of Japanese cuisine, with an innovative edge. Our group of 7 was led on a journey of sensory bliss. The standout dish for me was the succulent beef tongue kushiyaki, served to perfection and adorned with a medley of spices and aromatic pinepple pieces that amplified its natural umami-rich flavors. The wagyu tataki and kingfish tarts were also impressive, with the freshness and quality of the ingredients shining through in every bite. The attentive and knowledgeable staff went above and beyond to cater to dietary restrictions and provide exceptional recommendations. My only qualm was with the diminutive portions of the libations relative to their price, which was a minor disappointment in an otherwise exemplary dining experience.Despite this minor gripe, Rekodo remains a paragon of culinary excellence, an experience not to be missed for those with a predilection for adventurous and flavor-forward cuisine. The artful and bold flavors of the cuisine coupled with the attentive service and bustling ambiance make for a truly unforgettable dining experience.

Not sure where to start but the summary is AMAZING. My partner and I went here on a whim and boy am I glad we did. Our food was outstanding. The portions were perfect to try multiple dishes. Our server Danny brought such a fantastic energy. They were so friendly and the recommendations hit the mark from start to finish. The rest of the staff were outstanding too. I had the Charred sugar loaf as my main and the flavours were great. Mouth is watering just thinking about it.

Went into Rekodo on a Sunday lunch time. The venue looks great and we had a great spot on the outdoor section.Staff were friendly, attentive and accommodating. We tried a range of smaller starters and a couple of mains. The highlight for me was the beef tongue kushiyaki. This melt in the mouth dish an absolute must. The tataki and pork bao also very good.Try it out for yourself!

Amazing food, sake selection and cocktails. Great view, music (just right background level for easy conversation) and service from our hostess Raminta. Highly recommend!

My husband liked business lunch here with a view and he decided to book dinner for my birthday on weekend. To my surprise, we were seated on casual dining chairs without cushions and no view as the curtains were down. However, the Vynal bar music with DJ was awesome. Having got a lot of degustation and Kaiseki menus before, we decided to go with the Omakase menu to “leave it up to” the chef and hoped for some wow factors. We started with some fresh tuna tarts. It was a lovely start although they used sweet tart base. Then we were served bao buns. They were fine but you can find this in any other Chinese restaurants. A DIY Okonomi temaki was brought up to us. It was a nice dish and my teen children enjoyed rolling it themselves. However, we were immediately full after this dish. I had never eaten straight up too much carbs at the beginning of the meal so I found it unpleasant. Edamame, beef tongue, zucchini flowers and a deep fried dish were served. Grilled edamame was a nice and different touch from the usual edamame. Zucchini flowers stuffed with rice which were full of carbs again. I didn’t like the soft and fatty texture of the beef tongue cooked in this way so I had only one piece. My eldest daughter had a taste then refused to eat claiming it didn’t taste like meat. The deep fried dish was so dry and boring that I wished for a simple octopus ball instead. The two desserts were lovely as expected.Overall, this shouldn’t be an Omakase menu as it will mislead diners like me. When the waiter told me 7 courses I expected 7 small tasty bites with variety than being stuffed with average food I can find anywhere else. I thought I would have a bit of seafood or real beef through out the menu. Tuna was used in the first dish (tuna tart) then repeated again in the rice dish. Perhaps salmon/tuna tart and tuna/beef rice dish would be nicer. The beef tongue, zucchini flowers and the deep fried dish were all full of fat/oil leaving me (who was already full of carbs) a greasy taste at the end. There was a moment I had to ask the waiter to clear the empty plates before bringing out new dishes as the table looked so messy. I left the restaurant feeling being stuffed for a meal with no wow factors.Whilst dining, I looked around and saw some other dishes from a la carte menu which looked delicious. If you want to try this restaurant, I would recommend you to order the dishes you like from an a la carte menu and do not “omakase”.

Came here for a Sunday lunch and had a lovely time! Really enjoyed the okonomi temaki diy roll, skewers and kimchi waffle. Found the prawn sando and pork belly bao a bit underwhelmingGreat vibes! But felt super warm overall as it’s semi indoor outdoor- perhaps would be best to come on a cooler day or at sunset
