This is the first gelato shop we’ve been to that doesn’t allow taste tests. Not to be disheartened, we went ahead with our orders and were pleasantly surprised. All flavours tasted creamy and natural, thoroughly enjoyed. Would love to go back if we’re in the area again. I almost brought my rating down to 4 stars because we were denied taste tests (we were denied quite unapologetically with no reasoning). Customer service was average. Maybe I’m being entitled, and accustomed to these privileges from other gelato shops. It does come across quite odd though. 5 stars for the quality of the gelatos.

I definitely wouldn't recommend the place based on service OR food.. The staff were very rude. Were horrified that I asked what the flavours tasted like, refused samples, told my 2yr old off. To top it off, the ice-cream tasted like it had been left uncovered in the freezer or made from stale cream. My 2yr old said yucky and threw it in the bin. The whole experience was poor.

We come here once every week or two (lucky enough to live just up the road from Allora) and I think I can safely say this is one of the best - if not THE best - ice cream/gelato stores in Brisbane. We try ice cream and gelato everywhere we go, but Allora is still our number one. The Peanut Butter Snickers is our all-time favourite, and the Mint choc chip is beautiful. Perfect balance of sweetness and minty-ness (which is apparently difficult to get right sometimes). My 5yo loves the mint, and also their strawberry gelato and pomegranate gelato. The pistachio is also the real kind - not that bright green, fake stuff. Please don't ever leave Newmarket - we'd be devastated! <3

First time in today, pistachio was delicious. However, while sitting on the bench seat eating my gelato I noticed the girl behind the counter take a spoon and load it up and eat some gelato straight from the serving tub…. And then went on in with the same spoon for another round. Five minutes later did it again. We were grossed out. In what normal world does a server think it’s okay to double dip into the public offering… in front of the public. You have cameras, check for yourself.

We went there for coffee, they look to have really nice cakes there. Really nice coffee and the staff were excellent. No photos.
