Windies Cottage

Windies Cottage at Kimo is our new go-to rural accommodation - just beautiful!My partner and I stayed for two nights on our way back from country Victoria to Sydney.Great communication from the hosts, easy check-in, lovely and well thought out cottage, and an extremely beautiful and vast landscape that is Kimo Estate. Windies Cottage is certainly something special.The bed was super comfortable, the cottage facilities were good, and it's very cosy and comfortable to just unwind and relax. Going for a walk up and down the tracks was great, and seeing the storm clouds roll in, as well as the sunset in the big open skies, was phenomenal. Watching the neighbouring sheep is also highly entertaining!We stayed in the summer, and the air-conditioning was great. I'm sure the fireplace in winter is perfect. You might run into some creepy crawlies, particularly when it starts raining (as we found), which is to be expected on any farm.The cottage had many thoughtful and cosy touches, though we do recommend to the hosts to include some things like: wooden cooking utensils (particularly for the cast iron cookware - to avoid damage), a bath/shower mat, and replacing the light bulb in the bathroom area - these will certainly add to the experience!Highly, highly recommend Windies Cottage for your next country escape. We will definitely be back!

Great stay BUT front room needs a fan and the doors and windows need fly screens or it needs air con throughout

The cottage was lovely. It would be a special experience for city dwellers who want to immerse themselves in the countryside. Walking through the reserve adjacent to the cottage in the evening was particularly nice, as birds were flocking there to roost.

This cottage was an amazing place to stay. It is a nice cosy cottage with a very homely feel and packed with all the essentials. The setting is amazing surrounded by mountains and open paddocks giving an ideal peaceful and restful stay.Just a heads up, the cottage does not have a TV which is fantastic for a true disconnect and peaceful stay.

Quaint and peaceful farmstay. Great for photographers. Not so great for those who can't handle inquisitive ants and bugs, but what do you expect on a farm? Just remember to turn the outside lights off so you don't attract a million midges to the front door.
