Cania Gorge Tourist Retreat is a great place to stay. The owners are a very pleasant couple. It is so quiet and peaceful. The bush walks have striking landscapes, and the bird feeding is a delight.

Good place for a day trip with shelters/toilets ect.. like most other dam sites. Busy with boats / fisherman on our recent trip. Well worth the drive. Now to check out Shamrock Mine.

Cania Dam
great dam to go fishing on, had some good bass caught and a good yellow belly! Views all around are beautiful too, and when the sun hits the gorge it just gives it another level of appeal.View from the lookout is good too, with info on the dam and memorial/graves, a lovely place all in all, with pelicans a plenty too

Cania Dam, definitely a drive worthwhile. Only 30 min from the beautiful little country town of Monto.Cania Dam and Cania Gorge offer some spectacular walks, views and some of the most amazing rock formations in the area. Cania Dam doesn't allow camping at the dam, however there are to caravan parks Big 4 Breeze Holiday Parks and Cania Gorge Tourist Retreat. You can also rent out the Beautiful Cania Cottages Holiday Cabins. You can take a boat and go fishing or sit back, relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. This is a must see beautiful area.

Cania Dam
Nice place for a wander. Lots of pretty little wallabies. People take boats onto the dam for fun, too. Great views from some of the higher up roads around the dam.

Been going here every year for holidays! Best relaxing place to be. Rent the houses there, or stay at the caravan parks near by. Always has smooth water for skiing, I’ve been fishing here but never caught anything. They always have great maintenance of bbq’s, gardens, grass and toilets.
