Lol the guy behind the counter is not full quid. You'll get a cold and weird welcome. Then a very strange stare, as if you've walked in uninvited. Then nothing. Absys. I walked out, feeling somewhat violated, and never been back.

Considering we've just come out of lockdown, I expected the staff to be very excited, happy and welcoming. I didn't get this on my visit, customer service was perfuctionary at best, which surprised me. The coffee was fine, enjoyable, my first one at a cafē since going into lockdown, the breakfast burger was pretty good.

The owner I’ve never seen him smile in the 4 years I’ve been going, seeing there’s a trade school around the corner you’d be happy you’re getting customers??? Obviously not. The guy only talks when he says how much it’s come to. Very very bad customer service. Very depressing shop. Probably won’t go back. Only good thing is the chips lol.

This is my go to café for a coffee and croissant. On Uber eats and in RL. If I'm ordering a large coffee please do not fill it half way. it defeats the purpose of your surcharge, not the first time this has happened hence this review.

Great coffee and food and the service is good too. Check out if there is a spot in the small backyard. One of my favourite places in this part of the town.

Great to see this local cafe has survived the Covid lockdowns. So many small businesses, even in central Carlton, did not. The cafe continues popular with locals and the tradies from the nearby training centre. Still the best coffee for kilometres! The manager is now doing the work of four, plus take-away coffee and food orders. This means more emphasis on in-house coffee and snacks rather than serving full meals and less time for the manager to chat these days. But, if you call in off peak, you will find the same chatty and friendly manager who made this a favourite coffee place.

The orange juice tasted like it was from a bottle. The smoothie and fruit toast were fine. The main thing, as mentioned by others, is that the guy behind the counter is just plain unfriendly.

Fantastic food and service. Relaxed and charming. Eat inside or out. Coffee is excellent. Great spot to stop while walking the dog or tramming into the city. The banana waffles go well if you have had a big night, comfort food at its best.

Haven't been here for a long time. I'm hoping it was just a bad day for the, all rounder, Server, Cook, Waiter as it was clear he was unhappy and barely spoke to us.Food was ok but we felt quite hurried and borderline unwelcome. Has management changed here again perhaps?
