Down The Rabbit Hole Wines - Cellar Door & Restaurant

We had a delicious lunch. This place is perfectly relaxed and the indoor and outdoor spaces are designed really well. Menu highlights were the zucchini entree, butchers cut and the yummy dessert. This place has done everything right. Local produce, excellent wines, friendly and attentive service, great gardens and a perfect vibe. When you see a chef picking herbs in the garden, you know you are onto a good thing! Please do not change a thing! Will be back next year on our next SA trip.

Bohemian style restaurant and cellar set against a beautiful backdrop where you can see all the way across to the distant ocean over the adjacent vineyard on one side and an orchard on the other side. Got lucky and jagged the table next to large glass sliding doors to enjoy the view. We had the feed me menu with paired wines. A unique and different style of cellar door experience. You can also order a platter and do a picnic on the lawn. Experiential dining using fresh local ingredients with a beautiful outlook. Definitely recommend a visit. Venue was really well staffed and humming with visitors.

Delightful & surprising. Didn’t know what to make of it as we walked in as there were few little buildings here and there, as well as a double decker bus (for tastings). The restaurant was plain looking from the outside but when you get inside it’s welcoming, comfortable with nice design detail. We had grazing plate for two plus olives & chips. Even with two kids in tow this was more than enough and struggled to get through it all. Produce was fresh, tasty and good range of things to nibble at.Staff were excellent and the whole experience had a casual feel but highest of standards. Prefer it to the large over engineered wineries. Would definitely return here.

My niece recommended this place to me. Really chill place with nice music. Not your typical vineyard experience. You just find a comfy spot, plonked yourself there and order a platter and drinks to share. Note to all, the platter for one person can easily feed 4 so order with care. The food photos show a platter for one person and a portion of roasted potatoes.

Definitely will visit this place again and will bring my family and friends ❤️ costumer service was excellent and we enjoyed so much the food . The place was very cozy and has a very romantic ambiance. Wines are not that expensive and really great . The experience inside the bus was unforgettable- where we had the wine tasting. Outdoor boho decors brought a relaxing vibes. I could spend a whole day just chilling in this place . Highly recommend ♥️

We had the sit down, feed me menu and it was decent. The food was okay but not amazing. The sourdough bread was damp and spongy (would've probably been better warm) and the main quite salty. The vibe was great though, service very friendly and I can definitely see the appeal of doing a picnic with one of their platters on a sunny day.

Had an amazing tasting in the bus at what has to be the cutest cellar door in McLaren Vale! Very classy bohemian vibes. Rose was a great host! Also the tasting platter is devine, such variety, too bad we couldn't stay for the dinner. Loved the wines, very well priced

I can’t even describe how beautiful our entire experience here was. It was as though we’d entered a fairy garden. The staff were absolute sweethearts, the food was delicious, the wine was beautiful (probably some of my favourite from McLaren Vale) and the gardens/interiors were gorgeous. It was the most aesthetically pleasing dining experience I’ve ever had!
