Max's Restaurant
With a recommendation from a friend, we took a friend for her birthday. You will not be disappointed by the food nor the service. The selection of wine to Compliment each dish you ate. The expresso Martini made fresh to order. The food, and I highly recommend doing a taster, entree, main and dessert. I left almost 3 hours later fully satisfied and the service was impeccable. I will be returning again. Thank you for a lovely lunch experience.

Do not recommend this restaurant at all. Food is flavourless and overpriced... paid $75 for two courses and a side of chips, the chips were the best part for $12. Lied to about the amount of entrees available and wait staff fished for compliments the whole time.The children's menu is $35 for what claims to be chicken tenderloins and chips, a choc top and soft drink... what came out was a bowl of packet French fries and processed chicken. The waitress tried to tell me that it doesn't claim they're tenderloins when it clearly stated that on the menu. Also the choc top must have been years old because it was mainly ice inside.The wine was lovely and views stunning. But the fact you have to pay for water is a joke. And also the waitress insisted on taking photos of our food when it was at the table. Don't waste your money.

Was looking for a relaxing place to enjoy a nice meal today but unfortunately it was just too loud, we struggled to have a conversation as we just couldn't hear each other. Popular for the younger crowd to go out as a social group so not suitable for a couple. We weren't the only couple that had the same issue. For was nice and they constantly checked in to see if everything was okay.

Food and service very ordinary. Charging for water when we ASKED for tap water. $35 Child's meal was a disgrace. Said it was chicken tenderloin...it was horrible, inedible processed chicken out of a bag, fries out of a bag and a choc top that looked like it was years old and icy.Got lied to about the sea urchin. Claimed they only had one. Then told the people at the next table the same story. It didn't taste good either. Get a new chef and educate your wait staff.Such a pity as the place is beautiful and the wine good.

Rounded up to 3 stars but would have given 2.5 really.My friend and I had lunch here.$75 each for two course meal but you’d be well advised to pay for some sides as the portions aren’t that big.Overall it was disappointing: service was ok, atmosphere was ok, food was average.Would I recommend it?No.Why: the price was too much for what it was, the place itself is overhyped (we had heard great things but they turned out to be hyperbole).You are just as likely to get a better meal down the local pub for less money.

The food was completely different to what was on the menu felt like we were fed leftover wedding food. when I asked the waiter is this different to what’s on the menu I was told it’s lamb and that they have a new chef. it was leftover wedding food.

Such a fantastic experience!! The staff went above and beyond, making the whole experience a magical one. The food was spectacular, as were the performers of the day (Opera) Hannah and Michelle. Highly recommend

Wonderful food great service and amazing atmosphere!My partner and I arrived at Max's for a Thursday lunch and were greeted very kindly at the door. I requested to have a table overlooking the vineyard in my online booking, and was delighted to be taken to our table overlooking the entire vineyard and an ocean view! The kind waitress also gave us complimentary bread which was amazing!My partner and I ordered 3 courses with appetisers. We began with the cauliflower croquettes for appetisers, which were light crispy and delicious. For entrees we ordered the kangaroo carpaccio - which was good, but we both found to be slightly lacking in flavour, and the seared scallops and tuna, which was absolutely incredible and tasted beautiful! For our mains we ordered the lamb shoulder and beef steak with a side of their chips and needless to say, everything here was perfect. The lamb was falling apart with my fork, and tasted amazing. The steak was cooked to a perfect medium-rare and had a wonderful complexity of flavours. The chips had a lovely crunch and the accompanying aoli was lovely too! Lastly for dessert, we both ordered the parfait of dark chocolate, which for me was a little bit too rich, however my partner loved it, and the combination of chocolate, salted caramel and berries worked very well together.All-in-all a wonderful winery with a lovely selection of in house wines (I reccomed the shiraz), with beautiful food, service, and atmosphere.

WOW fine dining at its best. Excellent curated menu and lovely wine to match. The staff are vibrant and friendly. The atmosphere is spontaneous. The food was full flavoured and I wanted to savour every bite. Very enjoyable experience. Thank you

It was our 1st time at Max restaurant. Beautiful location. I felt we were welcomed and served very well. We enjoyed the space, but I wouldn’t say it was a modern setup. The views were brilliant. I wish we had window seat. Even though there were few options to pick, the food was mouth-watering. Some good dishes we had after along time. I will certainly visit this place again
