Ordered 2 steaks. One Eye Fillet and one rump. Steak cooked absolutely beautifully, 10/10 for steak. The rest was unfortunately so disappointing, the pepper sauce was incredibly salty, as were the chips. Mash potato is ok but very lumpy. Vegetables very heavily coated with salt and butter. I paid $90 for two meals and it was incredibly disappointing. I'd pay $30 and be satisfied

Addendum: I have upgraded to 3 stars! Hubby went to a function here a week later for 25 people. He said everyone was satisfied with their meals, and said they were regular pub meals as you would expect. Nothing out of the box, but just as you would expect to find in any Brisbane pub. So - good on you guys for upping your game. (But sadly on the day we were there checking out the food for the function, the chef didn't seem to have her eye on the ball, and was not ready to hear that something was not quite right with the food.)I hate writing negative reviews but I have to say lunch today was mostly left on my plate. Gotta say the staff were lovely and friendly, but the food let us and them down. My barra had clearly come out of the freezer; that’s okay but it was flat and dry like a piece of cardboard; not pleasant to eat. The hollandaise was either rancid or just made with some really odd substances. (The friend said it tasted like orange!) The chef disagreed and said it was buttery; nope, just tasted awful. Hubby said it came out of a large catering container, so I hope the rest was edible but I doubt it. She did replace it with a not too bad aioli. (Oh yes, and the mash was almost cold.) Hubby had a meat pie with onion rings. He said the pie filling was pretty good but the pastry undercooked and not nice to eat. The friend had chicken parma, which was a generous size – in fact, she took half of it home so I guess it was okay. All up, a disappointing experience though the many ladies of a certain age who were lunching would disagree I suppose.

Classic corner pub with sports bar, pokies and bistro.I go for the bistro and have always had a great experience. Steaks are cooked perfectly. I love the vibe in the bistro as most people choose to eat in the bar so it's always quiet. The kitchen staff are very friendly and approachable and happy to assist with dietary requirements. Have had no issues eating here several times with ensuring that everything is gluten free for a coeliac patron.

Went to a meeting, and then had a burger at the restaurant afterwards - tasty burger and chips. Very dated venue - almost an antique now you could say ! Pokie Machines galore, it is past its hey day for sure. But , a slice of history perhaps ?

Great overall experience - friendly and thorough staff.All meals came out extremely promptly quickly followed by the adults meals. Meals delicious!Clean and great atmosphere- will be back

I booked the table for 12, we got there and found out it wasn't booked. So there was only 1 cook, and we waited an hour for our food.Other than that, the food was great, and the cook did a great job, considering she was on her own.

Popped in for a meal and beer on a Sunday afternoon. We sat in the sports bar and the atmosphere was friendly. The menu looked quite nice, however we were very disappointed when our meals came out cold. Apparently the buzzer wasn’t working, so instead of them coming and searching for us after a couple of minutes, our meals must have been sitting their waiting for well over 10-15 minutes as my chicken schnitzel was cold on the inside. Very disappointed with this, so won’t be going back for food anytime soon, but would be happy to go for a casual drink.
