Small hitches but nothing that was not sorted, great customer service from start to end.. Above average quality material and finishes,Can recommend to price conscious buyers.. Very efficient custom home design stage. Construction does take a long time but that should be the case with most of the builders.. was quite a stress free process but could have had better finishes for the construction work.

We built our own custom designed home in 2016 with DR Homes. Good price, good build quality but it is the customer service that really stands out. Every issue we raised during the build was dealt with promptly and with no fuss. Very happy with our home.

We are building our Acerage home through DR and Regan was truely amazing. The girls in the office have been a huge help and stress free.

We signed up with DR late last year. The start was quite slow with the frame delayed and then erecting the frame seemed to take forever.After the frame was erected the build has flown along. We can’t knock the quality from what we’ve seen. A few minor things but compared to the shocking build we had on our last house with Stylemaster it’s been a walk in the park. Hand over scheduled soon. S can’t wait.

We had such a fantastic experience building with DRHomes. It was a pleasure dealing with all the administration staff in Head office who made contact with us regularly throughout the build. Its has now been 1 week since we received our handover and the keys to our house, and I have to say we are thoroughly impressed with our home. When the time comes we look forward to working again with DRHomes. 25.08.2020

As soon as we got through colour selection, we had a multitude of unexplainable delays and minimal contact from customer service team unless we followed up.11/03/22-Received Extension Of Time request to extend our contract by 123 calendar days when we have cameras on site to prove otherwise.24/03/22-11 days with no explanation in regards to complaints we raised. After receiving invoice of $78k for incomplete and defective frame. Our frame has been supplied at wrong width (contracted 70mm-delivered 90mm), multiple walls out of place, doors at wrong heights, plumbing in completely wrong rooms, rusted structural beams, frame being installed with no foundation underneath. This is just a snippet. We have addressed this with appropriate team as well as David Reilly himself who chooses to stay silent despite being the face of the company.25/3/22-Email received from Michelle Reilly in response to our complaints. No major issues addressed. Lame warning from DR Homes to say they do not need to prove completion of each stage to make a claim and that we are to pay future claims within 5 days without certification.31/3/22-David Reilly met with us on-site alongside the Building Manager and previous site supervisor. All issues addressed face to face and a resolution promised by David in a timely manner. Provided there are no delays with weather or trades, we will have a roof and bricks started in the next 3 weeks. Currently awaiting requested reports to define whether our frame concerns can be rectified to meet building code. Remaining hopeful and have adjusted to a 3 star rating to reflect this.21/4/22-Frame issues now fixed. Roof tiles delivered today and roof scheduled to be completed by end of month. Bricks now not starting until mid-May.5/5-Roof finally finished. No further updates. Waiting to hear back regarding when framing (window and door heights) will be adjusted so bricks can start.13/5-Windows altered and installed25/5-30/5 Bricklayers on-site - ran out of bricks. Communication from office staff almost immediate. Happy with response although no fault admitted as to why bricks were under-ordered causing a delay to our build.17/6/22 - We have been advised no carpenters to finish our build. We found multiple carpenters who have been insulted by their rates. We have asked them to revise their rates to meet the market and have been told they will manage our contacts from here. As clients, we do not feel we are at the forefront of what they do. Their back pockets are all that matter. Nothing will bring us back from a one star now and no further updates will be offered on this review. We have no idea when our house will be complete and our contract ends in under 2 weeks. We have not even reached lock up.

Went through their display home at Plainland. Settled on plans & paid a deposit.A month later they email us saying that they will no longer honour our contact as we are no longer within their scope.Wasted a month of our time.Could have been upfront at the start.Buyers beware. Dodgy company

Second time DRHomes client, we are about to move to the council approval stage ... will keep updating the review over timeBuilding a 2 storey custom steel frame house with Elevate finishes ..The govt grants have stretched every builder insanely and we are extremely specific about what we need with our custom home, but DRHomes has been fantastic till now ...- Sales rep Kiara has been extremely helpful with good communication and we had Amanda help out from time to time with specific queries as well.- We met Tony from drafting who showed genuine concern in our project by explaining the issues with some of our requirements. The drafting does take a couple of attempts to get right but that is to be expected with fully custom projects.- Michelle in colour selections was amazing! The product choices they have are sooo much more extensive than what they had 5 years ago and Michelle was great in guiding us through the confusion...- Jade from post contract customer service has been extremely quick with most of her responses and updates, very pleasant to deal withAs a negative for now I would say their upgrades that we looked into are more expensive compared to other similar custom builders, (egs: - raise ceiling height, steel frame, upgraded floor tiles/hybrid flooring, data points, acoustic window changes, wardrobe changes etc); they supposedly add a builder commission to everything according to their office, whereas I think maybe other builders may be providing the upgrades with minimum cost difference since they already have builders commission in place for the basic item. but if the house finishes end up being spot on, we have no issues with the upgrade pricing ...Since we have built with other builders as well it will be interesting to see how the construction and finish quality stacks up but if the experience till now is an indication of what is to come, we have really high expectations ! :)

No attention to detail or much care for the homes they produce! The first red flag should have been one of their site supervisors commenting on how he cannot believe how their selected trades have left our home …We had a slow build with minimal communication throughout, then received the keys 12 months after site cut. From dodgy gutters that continue to drip/leak, doors that don’t shut properly, a wall that is bowed, completely incorrect stain on door due to them using 2 different Timbers for the trim and door itself… the list goes on. We were happy to work with DR to fix these issues until they decided to not take responsibility for a huge error on their end. During our PCI we triple checked all windows to ensure no scratches and thankfully there were none! Flash forward to handover day and each window along the back deeply scratched in circular motions. This was acknowledged to be followed up, but of course they’ve since denied to replace. This is despite the site supervisor acknowledging the severity of the scratches and being able to capture them on video/photos… We wouldn’t recommend DR Homes to anybody and pray we don’t have any major issues in the future with our home that requires communication with them

We endured a drawn out drafting process with continual errors. Colour selection was rushed with only 5 hours to cover everything. No electrical appointment was included.Zero communication was permitted with the site supervisor directly. Our only official contact was with their “Customer Service Officer” who's communication was consistently very poor throughout the build. There were no progress updates throughout the build and getting a response to emails was consistently difficult.Frequent mistakes were made throughout the build despite having specific details on plans/variations. This led to unnecessary disputes with management to fix their mistakes.Our house has poor quality finishes, particularly in paint and fittings. The carpet installation is unsatisfactory with very visible joins, loose spots and three pieces joined in one room. Almost every door handle has been installed crooked. There are scratched windows and scratched window/door frames on the entire house. Little care taken was by trades and no protective films or coverings were used by the builder to protect any surfaces. The floor tiles were installed prior to paint and are covered in overspray. Paint has been dripped over the brickwork, tiles and carpets with little effort to remove. The builders clean was sub standard.At handover we were missing keys to our front door and there was no “thank you” gift. I emailed the builder after they deleted a post I had commented on in their social media advertising the Thankyou gifts they had given other clients. I was emailed a response by their Marketing team telling me that the reason we didn’t receive one is because they send gifts out to clients who they know will appreciate them.There was absolutely no joy or excitement during the building process for us, only relief when it was finally over.It was really important to us to support a small, local company. There were not many good or bad reviews when we were looking at builders and we took a gamble choosing them . We are bitterly disappointed with the entire process and honestly we wish we had used another builder. Would not recommend this builder.EDITED TO ADD, The quality home" they are proud to put their name to is the same home I have described with all of its issues. Coincidentally after this review was left we have also been removed from their Facebook and Instagram accounts."
