Mount Barker District Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital: Accident and Emergency
Diagnosed with piriformis syndrome was given panadine forte and sent home. Was actually a severe herniated disc. Lost my worcover claim because I didn't find out until 6 months later it was a herniated disc and didn't claim soon enough. Now my life is ruined and I can't work due to extreme nerve scaringWent back with extreme neuropathical pain. Prescribed lyryca. Looked so terrible and hadn't slept. I couldn't go pick up the prescription. Slept when I got home. Missed being able to attempt to go back out to the chemist. Back at home in extreme pain. Can't sleep again.

Too many times we have been to this so called emergency department which is a privatised doctor. Unable to get seen by a doctor as a result of under-staffing.Taken our 2 year old twice and waited over 3 hours or more. Ended up walking out and going down to Womens and Childrens hospital. The worst part is that the staff get upset at you for leaving because your made to feel like your unreasonable or your being impatient.Sorry but 3 hours with a 2 year old that has a temperature of 38.4 is not good enough.(I still don't understand why its acceptable for a public hospital to outsource the emergency department and to be allowed to charge a fee).No other public hospital charges a fee for emergency. This is a scam run by bureaucrats.

Was sent home with gangrenous appendix and nearly died. Misdiagnosed as a fever. Admitted myself to RAH instead.

Diagnosed petteller tendon tear as Gout. Prescribed steroids for no reason.Twice before for other injuries also diagnosed Gout which were not Gout.More effort required when treating patience to get a more accurate diagnosis.
