Touchstone Cafe
Nice coffee and smoothies. Food wise hits the standard. We were sitting near the door on a chilly day and it was quite freezing. Their desserts look yum.

Touchstone Cafe
Nice Cafe in the heart of Macleod. Visited at 2.30pm on a Saturday, we were advised the kitchen was closed, but that didn't bother us as we only wanted a coffee. There was a selection of snack food available as well. Nice space with both indoor and outdoor seating available.

I understand that Saturday morning is a busy time, but having to ask for a menu and water, then having to ask to order (whilst sitting in the middle of the cafe) and in the end waiting so long for breakfast that you need to change to take away is not ok.The food was really good when reheated at home, but the kitchen had forgotten to add the beetroot houmous to the vegetarian breakfast.

Could you please update your website with your current menu? In an effort to be quick I looked at the menu before coming but then got there to find a very limited menu, half of which I couldn’t even eat as I am vegetarian. I’ve been there before and the food is great but I didn’t order today because the menu wasn’t vego friendly and what I really wanted wasn’t offered which is disappointing.

Good coffee and small brunch menu that manages to offer interesting variety. Plenty of ready prepared sandwiches/ breakfast buns for toasting and little cakes/muffins/pastries on display. They also have a takeaway window on the side of the cafe if you have your doggo with you. I've had very good brunch and coffees here, and haven't yet tried their PM food and wine of which I've heard good things. You won't be disappointed.Update: it appears that they no longer open on a Friday and Saturday evening. Coffee is still very good here and friendly service.

I'm really disappointed with the service at Touchstone Cafe. I have sat outside a few times for over 20 minutes with my dog and baby. No one comes to take my order, they walk past numerous times without eye contact or anyway for me to catch their attention. Sometimes they don't come out the front at all. This hasn't happened once, it's happened numerous times and I've been so frustrated that I've left. I've enjoyed going to this cafe in the past as it's the best coffee in the area. However, I'm disappointed with the quality of service lately.

One star to each of the girls who were really nice. One in particular had great energy and very chatty. Awesome. Unfortunately the coffee was absolute rubbish (too hot for starters) and the bread also absolute rubbish - two of the main things that you have to get right to have a decent Cafe. The tall guy who seemed to be the head honcho for the day doesn’t have natural customer service skills. You can totally read it in his face that he doesn’t like being asked about filter coffee or what kind of butter they have. He did not make me feel welcome at all.

I remember this cafe being featured on a newspaper or an online foodie website once, and was glad to try out. The place is small to medium in size and I was surprised to see it packed with people on a rainy Saturday, even before noon. Waiting staff were friendly and attentive and the menu showcased a variety of options to choose from. The inside of the cafe felt bright and neat. The miso salmon dish I tried was delicious with a combination of different veggies complementing the salmon.
