My 8-year-old son wanted to learn piano but we couldn’t find anyone local that we were happy with. When we discovered Rob and started lessons over Zoom we were amazed by how quickly he picked up what he was being taught. Rob makes him feel comfortable and is so patient, fun, and knows how to keep his interest throughout the lesson. Being able to learn from home also means it’s not as intimidating going into a studio and he can watch back the replay of the lesson if need be. But above all else, my son plays for the love of it, not because he “has” to, and that right there is absolutely priceless!

I noticed my son Jude had a natural ability with piano and I called Rob's number randomly to get lessons, instantly I knew he was the right person, the way he teaches makes it fun, he's super positive and has this incredible way of bringing out the best in my son, Jude has grown in confidence so much, he really looks up to Rob, I couldn't be happier. I would recommend Rob to anyone who is looking for an experienced piano coach and just a wonderful generous person to have in your life.

Our 16 year old son who plays classical piano, has been under the fabulous tuition of Rob for the past 2 years after we moved from NSW. After the 1st few lessons with Rob our son became incredibly passionate and serious about classical piano. Rob is an amazing piano teacher. His communication is excellent, both with the student and parents, his lessons are planned, structured and innovative, and tailored specifically for each of his different students. Under Robs tuition, our son has completed his grade 7 and 8 exams with top marks, he is currently studying for his associate in music and is in good stead to apply to study music in either Australia or overseas. Rob has opened our eyes to the world of classical piano and he continues to guide all of us toward helping to achieve our sons music goals. It will be a sad day when finally our son moves on!

By chance at a physiotherapy appointment I mentioned wanting to learn to play the piano. My physio recommended her son’s teacher- Rob Melbourne. I struck gold!! What an incredible teacher he is- accomplished pianist and composer, full of fun, patient and always supportive and so passionate for you to enjoy your learning and the beauty of music. I now think and dream music and can’t wait for the next lesson and the enrichment it brings me. Rob is incredible in his ability to teach me at 71 and fulfil my lifelong dream of playing the piano. We were seeking a piano teacher for our 10 year old son who was keen to play Grandma’s old piano which sat silently idle in the lounge room. After much searching online, by chance, Noosa Piano Studio was recommended by a friend. After a very positive trial lesson with Rob, weekly lessons were booked in.Rob has been a fantastic piano teacher. He has a lovely demeanour, professional and fun. He has witty ways of connecting with kids so they understand how music expression can be related to other things we do every day. Rob is very flexible and accommodating with lesson times and frequency. He adapted seamlessly to Zoom lessons during the recent COVID crisis which meant tuition could continue.Rob teaches a broad range of songs from classical to contemporary. It’s quite something to listen to him play a tune and then hear a child repeat it.
