Colchester Road Fish and Chips

We ordered from here as the reviews looked good. Very disappointing, chips were super oily and hollow, worst I've had in a long time. We ordered 3 crumbed flakes and got 2 battered. Not sure how that happened, it was pretty clear on the door dash order. The little people dont like the batter, so we had to chuck it out. Don't waste your time.

We won’t be going back here after the terrible service today (Good Friday).We knew it would be busy so I preordered online at 4:45pm for a pick up order at 5:40pm. Arrived at 5:40pm to pick up the order and was told it would be ready in 5 minutes. The online system told me it was cooking and would be ready at this time too.After asking a few more times as more and more people arrived and came in and ordered and got their food, I was still waiting and being told “5 more minutes” or “your order is next”. I finally got the order at 6:55pm, which just isn’t good enough!I wasn’t the only person waiting this long at this time, and with the amount of phone orders being taken, I’m sure many more people will be waiting a long time tonight, as not everyone’s orders can be ready in one hour as they were all told.Our order wasn’t even correct when I got home and opened it up, but I was not going back for anything. Very disappointing when we had preordered and paid $40.

Good fish and chips at a reasonable price.Fish portion size is hit and miss.

I came in and placed my order. It cost $30 when I got home items were missing. I then called the store and they said my order was correct. Very disappointed with their service and price for what I got.

Better than the other FnC in Churinga, but flake is starting to resemble a fish finger in size, and potato cakes often no bigger than a 50 cent piece. Counter staff are great.

I have no idea why the new owner changes the quality of the food. It was an excellent fish and chips before with a 4.9 mark on Google review. However, the food and service were terrible now. Why does the owner want to destroy such a good shop? I will never go to this shop anymore.

Might be the best fish I've had in a long while. And the homemade potato cakes are amazing. Also great value.

The food is ridiculously good, however their timing really needs to improve. We come here regularly and the wait times are up to 40 minutes prior to lunch/dinner rush even. I called and ordered and was told 20 minutes (for three items mind you) which ended up being 40 minutes.Would be nice to see the menu open up to some more options such as a meat/salad/chips option like a few of the other local stores.If you are willing to wait ages though it's well worth it as the food is really delicious.
