Honestly the best fish and chips I have found around the Newcastle area, and I got a bit obsessed in the search for somewhere decent. I can't believe how many places have good reviews, but practically inedible poor quality fish covered in huge amounts of cheap oily batter, and huge, ugly and tasteless chips.This place has very quality fish, with just a perfect covering of fried batter, and delicious hand cut chips. The potato scallops and pineapple fritters are great too.

Great food and really friendly staff. I am a little biased because they make their own potato scallops which is rare these days. Please don't change that.Everything is always cooked to order in my experience. Just remember to order in advance as they are very popular for a reason.

Fantastic, we were up here for the Nrl 9s tournament, and stopped in here for a feed.. It's the best definitely recommending it to the footy parents .. Thanks heaps guys !!Well priced and definitely worth it as its big serving.. can't beat old fashioned paper styles..

Grilled fish was well cooked and a quality fillet.Calamari was huge and also quality. However 4 minimum is a bit much for 1 person if you are getting something else with it.

Waited 35min for a burger and chips, understaffed, poor new bloke was stressed out with 2 customers in shop. Chips were extremely underwhelming.

Bought enough fish and chips for 4.The chips were horrid I had to put them in the air fryer to crisp the old oil soggy cooked things.didn’t try the fish but it looked ordinary too.This chippery is in a prime spot in Warners Bay don’t shoot yourselves in the foot by not doing the simple things eg. Changing the oil more often.

The food was plentiful and tasted good, the expirence was let down by the lady at the counter who's demeanour seemed like we were an inconvenience to her. Would not go back but the business would do well to upskill their staff in this area.

Stopped for a quick lunch on what seemed to be a fairly quiet day. Ordered 2 x fish and chips, 2 cold drinks at a cost of 32 dollars. All the surfaces were very grubby and the staff were not interested in cleaning the tables down. So we waited 20 minutes sharing a table with the previous customers debris, yuk!We took our food across the road to the foreshore where the following 25-30 minutes we spent feeding the seagulls our lunch. The fish was OK, just. It would be tastier if it had a slice of lemon. The chips were only just edible but again they would of been better if the salt was normal and not chicken ? flavoured. The seagulls certainly enjoyed a free lunch.I must congratulate the shop though, the drinks were cold.Only one other comment.... I am not nor will I ever be your darling, sweetheart or any other term of endearment. I really, really don't like being addressed in this way and the staff on duty that day where throwing them out to all the customers, generally a very poor performance. Very disappointing for us.

Without even a shadow of a doubt, THE BEST CHIPS I HAVE EVER HAD. Not only are they exceptionally priced they are ALSO HAND CUT. It's an unbeatable combination. I've literally travelled from Sydney for these and it was absolutely worth it. I haven't been back since COVID but I am dying to go again.Glad they're not my local because you'd have to wheel me around on a gurney by this stage.

The staff member was quite blunt and rude on each interaction. Lots of short sarcastic responses, curt comments and a complete lack of warmth. I was nothing but polite from the outset, explaining who I was ordering for and asking about suitable options for the family.The ordering process was a painful experience in the face of this rude attitude. I was dreading collecting my order, knowing that the person serving made me feel awful. I was really surprised at how hostile the person's attitude to me was, especially given I thought i made an effort to be as pleasant as I could be to counterbalance the experience. Sure enough, more sharp unneccerarily cold comments on leaving. I was a bit shocked. Had to debrief afterwards with my spouse to work out what the heck I did wrong!The last time we went was fine. In fact i remember the lady being really friendly. However this time, with two other staff members, it was just the polar opposite in terms of customer service. Weird.The food was pretty ordinary for the price. Waited about 30 minutes for the food.
