I had a flight with my wife and friends to Stanthorpe on a winery tour, it was amazing. Well organised, thanks Craig.

There are better schools a few hangars up, but honestly, you don’t want to be flying out of an international airport from the beginning anyway. There’s plenty of time for that later. I was a student here briefly years ago and recently heard a story similar to mine so here is my review to help out anyone looking at getting into flying. Firstly, I firmly believe if I had filmed the young flight instructor who took me for my solo check he would have been out of a job on the spot, unprofessional and at the end of the day dangerous, the dude was clueless. A lot of these guys are here for the uniform more than the actual flying, with the intent of becoming a high society captain in the airlines, and this guy was one of them. Secondly, like I already said you want to be flying out of a dirt strip and doing your first solo there too not at an international airport. ATC (air traffic control) hate General Aviation. When your instructor is teaching you circuits in the midst of high traffic at the airport, ATC has no problem extending you crosswind and sending you out to sea, and you have to comply. My main flight instructor who was an absolute legend lost his cool about it one day, and assured me we wouldn’t make it back to land if we had an engine failure, that’s how far out we flew (point taken ATC). My third point is your reasons for flying. If you’re a pleb and it’s about the uniform then you are suited to be a fixed wing pilot. But if you’re more adventure oriented like me then you should look seriously at the career opportunities of flying helicopters. Hope that helps.

Just a shout out to Cameron, Vicky and the team at Air Gold Coast for making my 15 year old sons dream come true .last Thursday I treated my son and his mate to a joy flight from Coolangatta. Cameron our pilot took us south west over some of the best mountain ranges and green country in the Tweed Valley.He flew around Mt. Warning and MIn Min water fall. We took lots of increasable photos before heading east to Byron Bay and over the ocean where we saw tons of whales heading north. We then tracked north up the coast line before landing back at Coolangatta. The flight took approx. 75 minutes. it was very smooth and Cameron told us a lot about the area during the flight. I cannot recommend the experience more highly and thought it was great value. Thanks Again.

Poorly managed and very unorganized, they wasted so much of my time and money. If you're looking to get your license I would recommend airways down the street, I have just switched to them and I'm finally getting consistent lesson bookings.
