Sorry no zero stars! Went with a friend at 17.10, as soon as they opened, friendly staff offered us water, we ordered polenta chips for starters, 16-20 mins later a waitress arrived, my friend ordered $140 steak, before I could put my order she said the restaurant is booked out, there isn’t enough time for us to order foods like that, if we want to eat, has to be something snappy, and vegetarian options are rather limited. and this conversation wasn’t that polite, we paid for the chips and left! Will never ever go there again! Never seen such a rude waitress in eastern suburbs!

Had an fantastic dinner on Friday night. Besides the slight delay… 10 or so minutes waiting for the waiters to hand us a menu. We had great service, and they were quite helpful.The vibe was great I wanted somewhere busy, but cosy. This place was exactly that!The food was incredible, and I would come back for sure. Simple but delicious Italian for a decent price.

Excellent suburban Italian restaurant. The menu was comprehensive, and the specials we had were superb. Recommend the rissole and pasta. Good matching wines and overall ambience.

Delicious food. We had wagyu gnocchi, tuna stake plus some lovely Italian wine. Service needs a little improvement, otherwise 5 stars.

I absolutely love this place. The service is warm and hospitable but the food is really special. By far the best Italian food I've had and the place to go to in Sydney.Updated March 2023.Faultless. Always delivers for delicious dishes (pasta and meat especially), wine, and warm service. Our favourite Italian restaurant in Sydney

I recently visited Osteria Riva that I have been a long-time patron of, and I have to say that my last experience left me disappointed. The food took an incredibly long time to arrive at our table, and when it finally did, my pasta dish was cooked half-well and half-undercooked, which was quite unappetising.Additionally, the wait staff seemed quite frazzled and disorganised, which only added to the overall negative experience. However, because I have had so many positive experiences at this restaurant in the past, I am willing to give them another chance in the hopes that this was just an off night.Since I have been dining at this restaurant on many different occasions I’d like to bring to the management attention that’s something has changed in the kitchen/operating area. Please change it back! We missed the good old Osteria Riva :)Hope to see you soon!

Fantastic staff, incredible food and lovely decor. Vegan options weren't on the menu but the staff were very happy to change things up which was great. Would highly recommend!

My partner and I visited this establishment for a great date night, that was long overdue. We experienced the waitress try and upsell the most expensive items on the menu. The venue was super loud and we couldn’t even hear each other. Food was ok, though would suggest to revisit the prices to reflect the actual experience being provided.
