Legacy BJJ Hobart
Great coaches, team, facilities, community and vibes. There are 3 coaches (prof Fabio, coaches Ricardo and Antonio) in the club who all have different styles which we are super fortunate to have. All of them highly technical and great at explaining the important details when they teach.Besides the world class teaching, they have also managed to grow the club into a family where team members hang out on and off the mats. I really love that. The facilities are excellent as well because we use dojo at the unigym. That means really big and clean mats and showers which I’m sure everyone especially the girls appreciate!Highly recommend anyone curious to learn a fun and addictive sport to try!

Had my first class with Coach Ricardo and it wasn’t a pleasant experience. I thought I’d tried a class and was greeted very rudely, I began the class and trained with Ricardo and he was very touchy towards me in inappropriate areas & I could smell very bad odour from him, especially his feet. Maybe having shoes or socks on would prevent this from occurring but I’m not too experienced in this area myself. In conclusion would not recommend to anyone.

I've been training with Legacy for about 6 months now, and I absolutely recommend them for anybody who is interested in learning Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. At first I was nervous about starting a martial art with no previous experience, but the coaches, Ricardo, Fabio and Antonio have created a welcoming, supportive environment that made me feel right at home, so much so that Jiu Jitsu is now a normal part of my life and I look forward to every class. The people who train at Legacy are super friendly as well, which also provides an environment of comfort and camaraderie in which to learn and progress in BJJ.5 stars.

From the moment I walked in the door I was struck by the great atmosphere, great sense of community and an utmost professional club.Professor Fabio, coach Ricardo and coach Antonio strive to make everyone’s journey as enjoyable and fulfilling as possible whilst teaching Jiu Jitsu at the highest level. A more diverse and empowering club you will not find.A respected and much valued member of the TAS Jiu Jitsu community.1.2.3 Legacy

I have been training with Coach Ricardo for a few years now. He is very passionate with Jiu Jitsu, very good with details in the technique and is a very fun person to roll with. He brings such good energy on the mats and is always there to support & help the team. Definitely recommend training with him!

Legacy BJJ Hobart classes are well structured with very knowledgable and helpful instructors. The focus is mainly gi but there are no-gi classes as well. Practical self defence is taught along with competition style jiu jitsu. The level of detail is extremely good and you can see obvious progression in newer students who have only been training for a short period of time. The atmosphere is respectful, friendly and hard working. Classes range anywhere between 6-30 students and several instructors depending on the session. The university dojo is beautiful, airy with high ceilings and heated in winter. There is a real community sense with the club which includes Saturday breakfasts and other social outings. Legacy is a national club and the founding instructor from Sydney has been down to teach at the Hobart academy. You get to train at any of the academy locations in Australia with one membership.I've trained BJJ, judo and boxing over a number of years in Sydney and Hobart at several different clubs. Legacy Hobart is one of the best clubs I've trained at and I recommend it for both beginners and more advanced practitioners.

Legacy Hobart is one of the best BJJ gyms I have attended. I would recommend it to anyone. The quality of instruction is excellent and the environment is welcoming. I've been very impressed with how dedicated Professor Fabio and coaches Ricardo and Antonio are to BJJ and their efforts to create a friendly and inclusive atmosphere both on the mats and at social events.
