Stayed a night there... nice clean place... $40pp for touring and staying in the cell. Stayed there with group of friends abd eaxh if us got our own cell to lick in ourselves..There is full kitchen facility including bbq microwave and fridge. There is a shop also inside where they sell clothes and toys..Toilets are clean. At night time the place gets very spooky which is good! Our tour guide was really friendly abd we get to know the history behind the gladstone gaol, which was pretty full onOverall we had a great experience and keen to visit there again

Definitely worth a gander, was only shut in the late 70's,heaps to explore including the central tower up some steps.8 bucks an adult, the walls are impressive, the cells creepy and thought provoking.Friendly people looking after the joint.

Was a different experience. Was cheap to stay and sleep in the cells with the ghosts. They also have a kitchen where you can cook your own meals. Was a laugh.

Great and old it gives you an insight into what it was like there. The people that own it are amazing locals and are very welcoming. Take the kids they will love it. So come down and see what it looked like back then.

Interesting step back in time. First inmate on his release was presented with a gold watch!

Much bigger on the inside than you would think...worth the visit as a tourist and not a guest at Her Majesty's pleasure!

So much more could be done to enhance the experience - e.g. recordings of prisoners" & their day/treatment. Most objects were behind mesh screens. No evidence of prison clothing (apart from guards)

A great gaol to visit. Not only was it built way back but it only closed down in the 1970s. 3 big cell block wings and a smaller one out back. This gaol gives you a glimpse in life behind bars through a 100 odd years. Love the artifacts found on site along with period clothing. Well worth the look. Make sure you have more then an hour to spend here as it is worth it. Why not take the stairs up the tower to get a birds eye view of the whole jail. And if you want to stay here why not arrange accommodation with the jail and spend a night or 2. Bring a jacket as it is quite cool inside.
