My landscaper organised a plumber from this business to fix a pressure leak in a 90 degree PVC bend. The plumber attended site in the morning to check the job for parts. The landscaper had dug out the leak and left the pipe exposed. The plumber left, attended in the afternoon, was on the phone, left site, came back some hours later, was on the phone, did some work, left, came back the next day, was on the phone. I went out to see what was taking so long, the bend had been replaced but so had a metal valve that was not part of the job. The original metal valve as picutred had been replaced with a plastic one. I enquired as to the reason for the valve replacement, he said that it broke when he put his multi grips on it. I stated that the valve was on the outbound side of the leak and was working fine. The plumber said that these things happen and it broke. The metal vale was no where to be seen. I recieved an account for $686.40. I called Matthew Shepperd and explained that the replacement of the metal valve with a plastic one was not part of the job, it was on the outbound side of the leak and the valve as confirmed by the landscaper also, was working fine. Matthew stated that the valve was obviously faulty so the plumber did me a favour by replacing it.

I contacted Shepperd Bros Plumbing approximately six weeks ago, after my 3-year-old Rinnai gas heater failed to ignite, and I had been advised that they were the company that installed the heater when my house was constructed. The gentleman I spoke with sounded friendly and advised that it was probably due for a service and someone would attend in a few days.Two weeks later I again contacted the company, as no-one had attended. I was advised that the company was very busy due to recent heavy rains, but someone would attend as soon as possible.After five weeks of hearing nothing, I attempted to contact the company again several times. Despite being during normal office hours, the phone either rang out, or was engaged. I began to suspect that someone was ignoring my calls upon seeing my phone number.I then contacted Rinnai Australia directly and advised them of my problem. They informed me that they would have their preferred service agent contact me. Within half an hour, a service agent from another plumbing company contacted me and stated they could attend before the end of the week, which they subsequently did, and resolved the problem within 30 minutes.I find Shepherd Bros totally unprofessional in agreeing to attend to repair my heater during the coldest time of the year, then failing to do so after five weeks, and failing to even answer my further calls. If they lacked the expertise to repair the unit, or are simply too busy, they should have the common decency to say so upon my initial call.There is no way I would recommend this company to anyone. There are far more professional companies out there.
