Pretty disappointing considering we were excited for this to be our new local. First time we went, drinks weren’t great but gave it a second chance. Second time, the owner quite rude after mucking up our booking. This place just doesn’t hit the mark and if it gets some competition around I am not sure how long it would last. Shall stick to Milton Wine Room and Essie Wine Bar.

Welcome to Oydis, finally a bit of South Eastern suburb nightlife. Still partially under construction it seems but that didn't stop the strong drinks, good vibes, or friendly staff from providing a top notch experience.

A work in progress... couldn't be happier to see the recent drinking holes opening up this end of High St. Oydis has only recently opened and parts are still under construction so (I hope) more and better is yet to come. The food was only ok, bit confusing what they're going for. We ordered dips (not the best tasting) and 'beach basket' was ok. Wine list could do with some work too, there's better out there for the same price point. Staff were excellent, DJ great, atmosphere with courtyard, booths, high tables very well done. So all in all, great start and I'm sure will get better!

20/1/23Such a nice new local bar in Ashburton! The staff were all very lovely and attentive. Drinks were great, really loved the cocktails. The samosas were delicious. Can’t wait to see their expansion next door!Edit 17/6/23We initially booked at 32 Italia (formally ‘just Italy’ down the road but they gave our booked table to walk ins / were behind and couldn’t accommodate our pre booking (extremely disappointing don’t go there)!Oydis’ new extended wine room saved the day and our celebration, we walked in and they accommodated us all. The vibes are even better than the first time I visited and the new area is great! The staff were super lovely and attentive. Food and drinks delish as usual! Can’t wait to be back in the beer garden in summer time!

Very nice place in Ashburton that otherwise doesn't have many places to eat and drink. The green mango salad was the best thing on the short but well balanced menu.

A LOCAL DISAPPOINTMENT //When Oydis first opened its doors, we were excited at the thought of having our very own local cocktails and wine bar. It looked schmancy, and could see the potential of having a venue that could compete with the charms of those usually found closer to heart of Melbourne. Unfortunately, there's no point looking schmancy if the experience disappoints. The staff seemed lovely, but the owner was anything but on this occasion.--THE CONTEXT // The Ashburton Community Festival was on over the weekend. We invited a group of friends to come down and support local and enjoy the experience. We booked a table for 6 initially (and we requested for the booth in front of the front window). The person who took our booking told us it was confirmed for 4.30pm. He did also initially ask us to stay on the line so he could check the booking calendar/book. However, on the morning of the event we called Oydis to inform them that we had 8 people instead of 6. The staff member on the phone said that the booth might be a bit too tight for 8 people, so he recommended moving us to another spot. He mentioned the larger booth behind the window or newly renovated wine room - however we indicated that we wanted a spot that would impress our friends in the main section etc. He also checked the booking calendar/book. He said he would place us in a booth in the middle which was a cool spot". He knew what we wanted

We had our Christmas party with approx. 100 members at Oydis a few days ago and couldn't be happier! Everyone loved it! Good communication beforehand and very well organised through the whole evening. Great selection of food. Especially outstanding the friendliness and flexibility of the bar team!
