Mouthworks Therapy Centre

Mouthworks is absolutely appalling. There whole business structure is a shambles. There is no informed financial consent for clients making appointments nor is there any transparency with their floored way of providing speech therapy for children. When booking an appointment with a speech therapist one would expect that the process would be with one, however mouthworks are almost scamming using science as a excuse that the service can be provided by a unqualified allied health worker instead. As for cancellations, fees apply even if you call first thing in the morning with a sick child, but they won't tell you that part, just send you a automated bill for $60.00 to pay. Like I said, appalling. It is clear that the business is based on making money, not providing a excellent and personal service. It is such a shame for a Southern Tasmania with speech therapy being so limited and people have to rely on a service like this.

I have been taking my daughter here and have always found the staff friendly and helpful. She had a video session yesterday which went well, perhaps she was more relaxed being in her own home.

This company is awful. Their staff are incompetent. The only thing they succeeded in doing was stressing out my little one. They now send me never-ending emails of invoices I have already paid. I clear the matter up, and the emails start up again. I have told many health specialists about our experiences with them, and we have been advised to put in a health complaint. Please avoid all dealings with mouthworks. They will bring you nothing but stress.

Where to begin. It was fantastic, organised, great staff and wonderful therapist until the middle of last year things went wayyyy downhill. 9 staff (AHA, therapist, psychologist, etc) which we were seeing had left, proving to very difficult to get kids use to different people all the time. Towards the end of our time there: we had Allied health appointments with the therapist joining in every 1-3 months, sessions were cancelled without letting us know, therapy was shorter and further apart to fit more people in and zoom meetings with therapist DO NOT work anywhere near as well as in person. The last straw was one of the therapist saying that sounds tricky" for the whole hour with no help and I went through the same thing every session

My daughter went for multiple sessions and came out no better. Communication from the therapist to myself was non existent. I was told an outside source that I should have been involved and given instruction on how to help my Daughter with excerises between sessions. A massive waste of time and money!
