Ceroc & Modern Jive Dance Co.

I was introduced to Ceroc many years ago and have never looked back and now I'm totally in love with this dance. The people I have met along the way and the friendships I have made have totally change my life and I wouldn't swap it for anything. The dance is fun and energetic, the staff and dancers are encouraging and the atmosphere at every class is always fun and entertaining. If you love to dance and meet people and get fit at the same time, I highly recommend giving it a go!!!!!!!

Ceroc is awesome and I only wish I had discovered it sooner. Julie is an absolute professional and always seeking feedback to improve and enhance the experience for all dancers. Teachers encourage beginners to ask more experienced dancers for a dance, (they cannot say no!) and there is a friendly and encouraging atmosphere.Ceroc is not just about dancing, it's social and I've made many friends from different backgrounds and walks of life. It's wonderful to meet such an eclectic group of people you would probably never get to know if not for the common love of dancing. I started dancing at a time when I was unemployed and it brought me back from the brink of depression. It is incredibly cheap for the hours of dancing you can do in a week.Starting dancing at Ceroc and Modern Jive has been one of the most impacting life journeys I've undertaken and it will go on giving for the rest of my life. I'm sure most would agree :)

I have been doing Ceroc now for many years and it has been such a positive influence on my life. I was amazed how friendly and accommodating everyone was at CMJ when I was learning to dance. I now have life long friends and a great skill for life that I have used all around the world. Learning to dance Ceroc has given me added confidences and improved my health and well being. I highly recommend it you are looking for some fun in your life and always wanted to learn how to dance to give it a try!

Just on 6 years ago my children were getting old enough they could look after themselves for a couple of hours in the evening, so with their blessing I looked for something to do for myself.I've always loved dancing but had never been lucky enough to attend classes.When searching for dance classes near me I came across Ceroc & Modern Jive company. I started going to class 1 night a week. From the very first class I fell in love & was so happy to find this dance style.The teacher & fellow students were friendly & encouraging.Since then I have participated in 3 routines performing them at our annual ball.I have entered the Sydney championships one year & had the time of my life watch more advanced dancers as well as entering a couple of categories.I have gone on dance weekends away jam packet with workshops.I have met some if the loveliest people at Ceroc and made wonderful friends.I have said this before & continue saying it - Ceroc has been a life changer for me.I would not turn back time for anything except maybe to find this long before I did.Julie, the company director, works tirelessly the whole year round to make sure everyone who attends her classes, dance parties, annual ball & weekends away have the best experience. The success of CMJ is a credit to her.She will always have time for you if you need to discuss any issues you may have.She's a true professional.If you're at a loss on what to do come try out the amazing dance style.Exercising whilst having huge amounts of fun. A place for ladies especially to go enjoy yourself without the fear of being harassed.I hope to still be doing this for many more years to come.

I've been dancing for many years and regard staff and customers as family. Ceroc has brought a tremendous amount of joy to my life. My children, now adults, also danced Ceroc and it has given them confidence throughout their working career and also playtime! Julie is very professional in her outlook and has the patience of a saint and gives credit where it is due. My new husband also comes to Ceroc and we are able to dance when we go out. Ceroc is a mixture of rock and roll, modern jive with a bit of street Latin all rolled in together! You rotate in class so you meet wonderful people along the way. The classes are preplanned so you get a good variety of steps and you can walk or dance away on the first night knowing that you can continue to learn and add steps to your repertoire! If you haven't tried it give it a go!

Love love love this dance. I started just over 3 years ago and have made many new friends - which was just what I needed after having relocated back to Sydney. I had never danced before and found a number of people willing to dance with me - even when i was a beginner! Teachers are professional and I've been enjoying the new routines. Last year I went travelling with my partner and we danced around the world.

Ceroc is a fun partner dance! It is a great way to meet new people and to keep fit – cheaper than the gym. I have made long lasting friendships and highly recommend it. Everyone is so friendly - why not give it a go!!

Ceroc has been the best thing ever!!!My Husband and I started so we could dance at our children's wedding (we had 3 left feet). That was over 3 years ago and we're still going because we love it. It doesn't matter if the music is fast or slow, old or new, this type of dancing works. Ceroc suits any age - so there's lots of different ages from teenagers to older.We were so scared at first but with the attentive support from gorgeous Julie G and her considerate teaching and other staff, our dancing improved. Now we actually feel the music within our bones and want to dance when we hear a song.Its enjoyable watching some of the well-established dancers but we have heaps of fun even though we're not great. Its been a pleasure to meet new & friendly people and I think we have made some lifelong friends. Each week there are new people who come along and everyone is really welcoming.Not only is the beautiful and kind Julie G so considerate and encouraging, but her staff have always been there to help too - with a smile. There's quite a few venues to choose from but we mainly go to the ones that are convenient for us.This is better than the gym. Ceroc is a good workout while having fun as well as extremely useful for social events and meeting some very delightful people.Thanks Julie G, staff and friends!

If you want to learn partner dancing, Modern Jive at CMJ is the best style to start off with. Simple, easy and you're dancing to the best songs on the radio.It was definitely hard for me at first (i.e. originally from Brisbane and having music timing issues) but with persistence, practice and consciously getting out of my comfort zone, I can say confidently now that I can partner dance at weddings, parties and gatherings (which has always been a goal that I didn't think I could achieve).I created some life long friends along the way and I also met my wife through dancing.Give Ceroc and Modern Jive ago and don't hold back!
