Chinese Gardens Camping Ground

This site left more to be desired, the grounds looked nice upon arrival, however, the lack of communication given by the receptionist whilst making our booking made our time here, unpleasant.The reason we choose this camp site was the idea of a shower at the end of our day. A mediocore shower is just what we got. This shower was lukewarm which we were willing to put it past us if we didn't have to pay the undisclosed fee for the shower on top of the fee we were already paying to stay at this camp site.On top of this, we were at the end of journey and wanted to wash our clothes at the laundromat but the receptionist had forgotten to give us the key.I think it's safe to say we would prefer to stay somewhere else next time.

Kind people in village referred us to this campsite after the booking office had just shut and suggested we paid at the office the next morning (which we agreed to do so).Unfortunately the 'attendant' approached us in an emotionally volatile rant of verbal abuse an hour later. Without seeking any clarification, he ordered our young family out of the campsite (in the dark and in the middle of dinner preparation) on the assumption that we were vandals (no damage was found by him) and dishonest types and was trying to camp for free. When we offered to pay on the spot to alleviate his concerns, he finally agreed to let us stay, but only if we moved our vehicle onto the boggy site immediately, under his supervision. We were not allowed to park on gravel path even though torrential storms were forecasted and there was no one else on the campsite apart from us. Had it been a safe time of the day to leave the campsite, we would have. Instead we stayed the night in fear of this volatile individual.The only plus is this site has warm showers and clean toilets. Everyone else we met at Walhalla were incredibly hospitable and friendly. It is a beautiful village but I'd recommend visitors stay at B&Bs or the numerous free campsites closer to the village centre.

Walhalla is a Great hidden gem. The Chinese gardens is a Campsite is slightly out of town which is great but there is free camping in the middle of town. However Toliets and showers are clean as is the bbq area so you get quality creature comforts for your coin. Creek runs around the whole site but just watch out for those pesky leaches.

Given we stayed at the end of May it was a great place to camp and the facilities are very good and well maintained. The ground wasn't too wet even after the rain we had over night!

Great campsite with nice facilities. We arrived after hours but managed to hunt down the owner and pay. Showers cost a dollar for 4 minutes. Fireplaces available. It's not the best area for rainy days without 4WD as our car definitely struggled with the mud.

We camped at Chinese gardens for a night, and absolutely loved it! The toilets and shower are exceptionally clean (we are so grateful), so if you’re headed there, please make sure you keep it clean and tidy too :) Hot showers are available for 4 min, you will have to wait 1 min after that to restart the hot water. Place is beautiful and tranquil! Be sure to bring along drinking water and camping essentials. Township nearby is open only on weekends (I think), so bring everything you will need! Laundry and dryer are available for use - 4X$1 for each. Highly recommend this place!!

The Chinese Gardens camping ground is close to the Twp of Walhalla and is operated by the Walhalla community. It includes hot water for showers which require a one dollar coin to operate. It also includes a laundry that has a washing machine and dryer included. There are two parts to the campground on the southern side Is a campground available for people with standard vehicles and on the northern side of the campground is an area for people with four wheel drives. The whole facility is Boarded by the Walhalla Creek which has water almost all you around.
