I'm a teacher and taught a year at a new school that used Maths Pathways. I hated it, the kids hated it, the parents hated it.On my first day, the maths teacher next to me gave me a set of responses to say when parents complained!The idea itself is good - it can differentiate the learning. But the program sucks. It is boring, repetitive and convoluted.I had a year year 9 class, and by the end of the year, the average level" was around the middle of year 6.The school then stops Maths Pathways and in year 10 kids went into General Maths not knowing basics like solving equations

Math pathways has destroyed my motivation and mathematical ability, something that I spent years trying to repair. it gives teachers an opportunity to slack off or let their students cheat so they can look better. (my year 7 teacher did exactly that and went off to be the AP of another school). Going against conventional" maths teaching is not the way to go

My school uses this and its so repetitive and I haven't even remembered anything I've learnt. Kids just want to get the modules over and done with and most of the time skip the questions of the module.

i actually hate maths pathways more than any other math program ive ever used. its so repetitive and teaches me absolutely nothing. im not learning anything and ive been using it for 2 years. its so bad. im sure it would be good for like every once and a while you do a cycle but not every lesson. ive literally seen no groth in my maths and once i go into year 10 im gonna know nothing. i wanna actually be taught things by a teacher not this. the thought of maths pathways makes me so angry. don’t recommend.

It says my modules go for 30 minutes I timed mine and it went for an hour and I am supposed to do one every night it is horribly torture for children it needs to get banned from my school everyone gets upset about it. It doesn't even deserve 1 star

This company gets an A+ for marketing and sucking in schools to sign up to their contracts. They are ruining a generation of students who already find maths difficult because they have been let down by the education system. Schools go for this to try and treat the symptoms rather than addressing the cause.

Kids need to be taught by a teacher, not learn themselves by this program where they have to ‘master’ modules. Utterly confidence destroying that doesn’t even deserve 1 star.
