The best place for kiteboarding in Mackay, better as the tide is going out as you gain some assistance from the outgoing current in a South Easterly. Some nice flat water sections and good shallow lagoons stuff low tide. Not busy at all and most days you have the place to your selves. Not the greatest at a high tide as it’s just open ocean and deep. Low tide is the best as there are plenty of sand bars and lots of flat water.

Mackay' s secret place to get away from it all.Under no circumstances drive here in anything less than a 4WD vehicle - I've just found someone trapped in the sand !Come and watch the sun slip down here.
