If you're fit and able to pull yourself up using installed link-chains, then... Highly recommend the steep approach up from the lake trail towards Marion's Peak/lookout. Then take the trail towards Dove Lake and all the way out to Wombat's Flat. Scenery changes like 2-3x and you'll get to see a wonderful waterfall surprise somewhere along the way. Stunning hike.Only the initial climb requires some 10% scrambling. Otherwise, a sturdy pair of hiking boots or sneakers is all you need.

It is not the easiest climb, requires some usage of link-chains and scaling some steps and rocks, but well worth doing it to get a panoramic view of the lakes and the surrounding area.From the visitors center take the shuttle to Ronny Creek or Dove lake, I started from the former it's a longer walk to the lookout but well worth it and if you lucky you will be able to spot some wombats along the route.Cradle Mountain can be seen in the distance once you reach to the summit.

An amazing place anx well worth the walk. 2 mid aged, not as fit as we used to be, couple made it up and back. Leaving from Dove Lake was crazy unstable on foot. But we returned via Ronny Creek/Overland track and that was so much better, complete with multiple, beautiful waterfalls.

The hike here is not too bad, with the exception of one steep climb that features a chain rail.Beyond here, the hike to the summit becomes a lot more challenging and intimidating.Would recommend pushing to this point.

A serious walk, but not too difficult. A wonderful vista is your reward for effort. There are several ways to reach the goal, 'Marions', and then you have choices as to how you get back to a shuttle bus pick up point.

Not the easiest climb but im not the fittest bloke ever and I still made it up!! Just remember sun screen. Lots of water. And some energy snacks.And enjoy every step !!!!

Impressive and delightful walk. It take time and some effort for someone that works in an office and all the exercise is walking around a shopping mall looking for food. But it was a very peaceful and amazing experience. I Did it on January so weather was very good and warm.

Absolutely breathtaking view point of Dove Lake and Crater Lake, definitely a step up from the Dove Lake Circuit. Not terribly challenging to reach here. A popular route people tend to take:1. Catch the shuttle bus to Ronny Creek and take the Overland Track2. Go past Crater Lakes on the way there you will see some water falls as well as a small boat shed3. Hike up the steep hills to Marion Lookout, there will be small sections with chains to pull yourself up but it's not too difficult4.Back track down through to Wombat Pool and do a slight detour to see the Dove Lake Boat Shed and finish off at the Dove Lake carpark
