Tumut Broom Factory

I was in tumut and got the old girl a new air scooter. To fly around on and sweep the floor . She couldn't be happier. What a great broom.

I went there to buy a broom, they were courteous and friendly and busy. Only straw broom manufacturer in Australia.

Young Andrew was an absolute legend and sold exactly what was needed, drove 3 hours here to purchase a broom to replace a family friends original tumut broom that needed replacing after a lengthy 16 years of hard work, we weren't quite sure what we needed as a replacement as the original broom was so worked we couldn't tell its type, luckily Andrew was able to determine exactly what we needed based on usage requirements, he gave us a purpose built outdoor broom with straw on the exterior of the broom brush and cane throughout the centre of it, was so rigid it could stand up on its own without extra support, we're extremely pleased with the professional finish of the broom and the customer service that was provided, it will do well sweeping outdoor pavement back home, many thanks to the tumut broom factory, I highly recommend.

Visited the factory today and found only Brad working away by himself - apparently others are on holidays - poor Brad! But he was terrific in showing us all the steps in broom making, and answering our many questions. Nothing fazed him, and we learnt heaps. Bought a number of brooms, and will certainly continue to sing the praises of this small, unique enterprise (we bought a broom from the Visitor Centre when the factory was closed on a previous visit). May you continue to thrive and prosper!

I bought a Tumut broom for the shearing shed 12 years ago and it has been great. Finally needed replacing so I went back and bought another Tumut broom which lasted half a day. Took it back for a refund and bought the version with the metal collar instead and it lasted two days. Not sure what they have changed but now buying from a different seller in Tumut and that broom isn't falling apart after 5 minutes work.

We bought our first Tumut broom the year we were married 28 years ago. Still only just wore in and used daily but we bought a spare just incase.

Friendly guy showed us how the brooms are made and explained about the millet straw and it's qualities. A couple of different brooms to buy. We got the harder grade one for sweeping outside for $60. Open on the public holiday as well.
