The Good Egg
this place is so welcoming and the food is amazing quality!! the cilbir eggs were the highlight, the spiced butter had great flavour and the eggs were poached so that they were perfect, soft and runny when cut open. the bacon was thick, juicy and such big pieces cooked perfectly, other places do smaller thinner pieces, so really appreciated that.the fresh juice and cold brew coffee was also great. the fresh chai latte was a little diluted in flavour, it perhaps could have been brewed for longer. the service was friendly, atmosphere very relaxing with pretty decor, and the sign out the front all made me feel very welcome and looked after. good prices, would definitely come back!

Chance upon this cafe while in Margaret river. The food was good. It's two storeys seating. There were meeting rooms that could be booked in advance for work.

We were recommended this place by a friend as it had an inside, enclosed play area.We ordered the pancakes and fruit toast two two large flat whites. Everything was really nice and the play are kept out almost 2 year old entertained for the whole time we were there. The staff were friendly and we were served quickly. A really nice, relaxing place.

We chose this cafe after a fair bit of googling the area. It looked and sounded amazing! We booked for Saturday and Sunday. On Saturday we arrived and stood there for what felt like 5mins while 3 staff members chatted about another customer, while not one even greeted us. It wasn’t until I think the lady who is the manager asked them if we had been attended too that one staff member said yes- and we said no- that she quickly told them to get us seated. I know that it was a Saturday- and that most were juniors- but just a customer service tip- greet the customer- a simple hi- I’ll be with you in a tick goes a long way.We decided on satay chicken dish to share for brunch and a cappuccino each.We ordered the cappuccino with the sweetener to put in ourselves but had to hunt for a spoon to stir the sweetener in with. A soup spoon had to do. The coffee was nice and drinkable. The satay chicken arrived. Very dry and flavourless and cold. The dish is huge- but as you can see by the photos- it’s a cold salad with what looks like a tin of bean shoots filling up the plate and cold tofu dropped into a bowl. The hot items went cold super quick and didn’t really work with the massive amount of bean shoots. I think this dish would be majorly improved by having a rice with it, tender chicken and a much smaller salad side.Anyway- it was very busy, so we thought we would give it another chance and go again Sunday. This time we were seated quick and had cappuccinos and a kids eggs & bacon on gf toast. Kids eggs actually means one egg. So when the lady at the till asked “how you would like your eggs”- it probably should be “how would you like your egg.” It arrived in a takeaway box. After an expected wait- The young junior girl with very light brown hair plopped it on our table and said here’s your takeaway. I replied- bacon and eggs?- we are dining in. She said oh and walked off. Again- customer service- maybe offer a plate next time, instead of just walking away when a customer points something out. It didn’t matter too much being in a takeaway- but would have been much easier to eat off a plate. The poached egg was a little over done and so was the bacon- so it was hard to cut. Overall- it was okay.We chose 3 stars- because it is a nice cafe, it was busy- and errors do happen especially when juniors are working, and with a few things improved- it could be awesome. It has a lot of potential. The coffee isn’t bad and from the reviews- the food is probably on point at other times. We may have just been unlucky- twice!

Our only dine in lunch during our road trip. So glad we found this cafe after visited the long jetty nearby. The Smashed Avo is the best. Very generous on the Avo. The combination of pickle veg n Avo was so good. It's warm our heart on the wet n cold day.

We love The Good Egg! I come down with my family once a year and breakfast here is a pleasant appointment. Place is always clean, tidy even if buzzing with life and full of colours and art pieces. Staff is super friendly and always ready to help with my food allergies and accommodating with kids fussiness too! Portions are huge, we never can get past the pancakes that are delicious and rich and it's a plate for a king! Muffins and cakes are fresh and handmade and kids area is clean and well presented. We always go back and my son loves it. The story behind the place will melt your heart and it all makes sense when you feel the atmosphere of community life. Well done guys. Keep up the good work.
