Franco Pizza Bar
This place was a happy accident, but is the MOST expensive pizza I have bought in NSW thus far. The Margherita did not fit the price point, it was by no means bad, it had a deliciously chewy, slightly tangy crust with the perfect amount of char, it’s just the sauce lacked the acidity you get with most tomato bases. We also ordered a cheese an onion pizza which listed fried onion as an ingredient, just be aware it’s more like the crisp ramen onions and not the pan fried variety. I am not exaggerating when I say I have dreamed of that pizza.. Hot honey, onions and cheese seems like such an incongruous combination.. But it was DELICIOUS.

My wife and I had decided to celebrate an anniversary with dinner at Franco's. This Thursday night was listed as a Porchetta night on their website. That is, rolled pork belly accompanied by 2 plates of sides. The starter was share plates of focaccia bread and sweet peppers. OK we're in!After the first glass of Prosecco was done, I noticed an entry on the wine list of Orange wine. We had drunk an orange wine in Seville, Spain, which was a red wine infused with oranges, and the memory is still with us! But this Orange Wine, from near Young in NSW, is a type of white wine. It's made by leaving the grape skins and seeds in contact with the juice, creating an orange coloured wine. So I ordered a carafe to drink with our Porchetta.The mains dishes soon arrived and we were not disappointed! The pork was well cooked with crispy crackling surrounding the thick, round serving. The roast potatoes and baby yams were exactly the right texture. The Franco signature side of purple, radicchio lettuce leaves with finely sliced pear and gorgonzola cream dressing sure woke the palate up. We loved it, the whole dining experience!Franco's was jumping on a cold, wet June night. It was pretty much a full house from 6:30 on. Make sure you get there sooner rather than later.

First time dining here tonight, was pleasantly surprised at just how good the service was compared to what has become normal at many other places. Friendly, fast and attentive at all times. The food was excellent - plenty of choices for shared entrees. Pizzas were beautiful. Cocktails were perfect. Desserts lovely. Will be back and soon.

Some of the best pizza I’ve ever had! We shared the cheese & onion between 2 adults and it ended up being the perfect amount of food.The staff are lovely & I can’t wait to come back.

Really loved it here. All the food was delicious and the staff are friendly. The pizza are tasty and not doughy or flavourless. The interior is really cute too with comfy settings and nice lighting. We visited here while on holiday and would return again. The t-shirts are also kinda cool - I bought one and I don't normally buy restaurant merch. Only feedback for the shirt is that it should say where this awesome restaurant is so more people can visit!

Celebrated a dinner and comedy night for my birthday.On arrival, greeted with enthusiastic staff who sat as down and explained the menu/specials.After advising our waitress about our other commitments and time restraints, the service was quick and they accommodated perfectly.Milo waited us and checked in regularly. We are grateful and appreciative of the attention and service, oh and the food was delicious. Set menu, no thinking, just eating.

One of the best wood-fire pizzas i’ve had in a while, with sauce that goes with it! We ordered the Set Menu ($58/pp) and it surprisingly very filling! Kingfish Crudo has interesting flavour, definitely an acquired taste. Tiramisu is A++ . Loved the vibes despite the small space, dim lighting + good music. Would definitely come back when in the area!The staff were dismissive at first but as the place slowed down they were more attentive and nice.

This is the first pizza restaurant I’ve been to on the South Coast but I will say it was a great experience!The great:The focaccia was classic, olive oil heavy, salty goodness (very salty! As a word of caution) Went very well with the burrata andolive oil.The formaggio pizza was also a hit. Loved the sweet honey drizzle and sage touches with each bite.The drinks went down well. I wish I could have stayed for a few more. Strong selection on tap.The service was a standout as well. Everyone was really friendly and helpful even with our kids kicking about.The good (but not necessarily “great”):The potato pizza. It was definitely good but I’ve had a lot of potato pizza - not by choice but my wife loves it so we always get it everywhere we go. It would have gone well with some Italian sausage (which you can add for $) and maybe swap the rosemary for fennel seeds (not a chef, just love fennel!). Don’t worry I still finished off the plate... I’m not a monster.Thanks for the good time Franco. We will tell our friends and stop by again maybe without the little ones next time!

Date night this Saturday was lovely at Francos, it was pumping when we got into this very cosy eatery in Thirroul.The service was super professional & friendly.I liked the set menu option as included their famous pizzas & the entrees we would have chosen anyway :)I always appreciate all the guess work being done for you on the menu, and love the share everything" style of dining.The wine list is impressive

Loved every moment of this first experience at Franco Pizza Bar. Service was absolutely amazing and a really welcoming vibe and atmosphere . Gorgeous wines and cocktails ...food fantastic. We are not great pizza lovers...but the share plates / appetisers we had were divine and a shared vegetarian pizza on top of those (with a lovely simple salad) and a shared delightful dessert was a fabulous meal for two. We will be back on date night in the hood - soon xx
